"Im turning off my flashlight," Jin said, hand reaching over his phone to put it back in his pocket when Byulyi intercepted, grabbing his wrist mid-air before he could touch his phone.

"Don't," she whined.

He awkwardly pried her clammy fingers off his wrist with a stiff smile. "My phone's dying."

"Jinnie its really fucking dark in here." He heard her say as he proceeded to take his phone anyway.

His finger hovered above the flashlight button to turn it off, smiling at Byulyi teasingly "Well, better say goodbye to sweet sweet light because—"

"No don't—"

Jin turned off his flashlight.

Instantaneously, Byulyi scooched closer to Jin until their shoulders were flushed side by side.

Jin looked at Byulyi dubiously and saw the way she tried to peer into the darkness, her eyes frantically moving sideways. She folded her legs until they touched her chest and even positioned her bag beside her to shield we from the unknown.

A thought occurred to Jin.

"Byulyi-ssi, are you...scared of the dark?"

Byulyi only chuckled nervously beside him, hugging her knees closer. That's weird. It didn't seem like she was scared of the dark earlier when she wouldn't stop walking while he was peacefully trying to sleep.

"I'm—I'm not scared of the dark. I'm just...," she trailed off, biting her lip in apprehension, "What if the rat comes back and bites my toes."

Well that was unexpected.

"You're scared of rats?" he asked, incredulous rather than mocking.

"Scared is a strong word. More like," she hummed, moving her ways sideways as if weighing the words in her mouth, "I despise them with my entire being."

Jin let a teasing smile settle on his face as he rolled his eyes, even if she can't see it since she's busy surveilling the area around her toes. "They're not going to bite you in the dark Byulyi-ssi."

"You don't know that."

"What makes you think the rat wouldn't bite you with the lights on?"

"Yah!"

"Kidding," he chuckled.

So far within the few hours they've been stuck together, Jin learned that 1. Byulyi was stubborn as stubborn can be, 2. She's gullible and is easy to fool, 3. She goes through emotions quickly, 4. She hates rats. He didn't know where he would use this information but there you go.

"If you tell this to anybody, you won't be my crush anymore," she muttered grudgingly, scooting even closer to him, and Jin imagined a blush spreading on her cheeks as she talked reluctantly.

He scoffed. "Of course I wouldn't. Being your crush is one of my life's greatest achievements."

3:35 AM

"I'm hungry."

"Go eat air or something."

Byulyi whined at him, shoving his shoulders with hers because of his sarcastic reply. Seokjin only chuckled as he settled himself again.

"You don't have any snacks with you?" she asked again, putting her hand on her stomach.

"Nope."

With a click of her tongue, she opened her bags and rummaged through its contents. A black jogger pants, 2 old notebooks that she never wrote her lectures on, a water bottle, several pens that don't work anymore, and her wallet.
