182 of the world’s mightiest warriors have converged upon this arena. Each possessing a unique fighting style and sharing a common goal, crush their opponents and seize the title of Master of Martial Arts. Will Gencha prevail? Find out!

“May I have everyone’s attention?” the Referee asks

Gencha and the others turn to look.

“The first order of business is to select each fighter from each match. Each of you will draw lots from the Boxes.” the Referee says, signaling to the boxes

“I got block two in the second half” Krillin says

“I’m in the second half of block one!” Goku says

“I’m in block one….first half.” Yamcha says, in relief

“What about you, Jackie Chun?” Gencha asks

“I drew number one seventy-eight. Which if I’m not mistaken, puts me in Block four.” Jackie says

“Well what about you, Gencha? What did you get?” Krillin asks Gencha

“Block two, first half.” Gencha says with a smirk, “We won’t have to fight each other until the main event.”

The tournament Referee explains the rules and all the fighters get ready. Gencha in particular is underestimated. He flies through opponents with ease, not revealing the secret technique he has saved for Goku.

Finally, there is an intermission. All the fighters go into a hall to eat. Goku eats quickly and barely stops for breath.

“Jeeze, if my mom saw me eating like that...I’d be slapped.” Gencha says

“Speaking of which, where is she? She was here for the tournament last time. Why isn’t she here now?” Yamcha asks

“Well...after she realized how powerful foes were in the last tournament, she didn’t think that competing this time would be much different.” Gencha says

“That still doesn’t explain why she didn’t come to watch. I mean….SHE IS an old student of Master Roshi.” Yamcha says

“She said she’d be here. But I don’t know where she is. Maybe she’s running a bit late.” Gencha says

The Roshi student made it to the championship. Including the Crane School Pupils. It was time to begin the matches. The crowds bundle next to the walls, eager to watch the matches start. The finalists stay in the hall and wait to be given an opponent.

“I’m excited to be fighting in the finals. But it’s gonna be a little weird if we have to fight each other.” Krillin says

“Wouldn’t be weird. We knew it would happen.” Gencha says

“Hehehe, I don’t know how you do it.” the man with three yese said, who’s name is Tien Shinhan. “I don’t think I could do what you do. Survive on blind luck. It’s a shame you don’t have any real skills of your own.”

“You’re the lucky one, Bozo. You only made it this far cause you haven’t fought me yet.” Yamcha says with a smirk.

“Poor Yamcha. The only thing more pathetic than a loser is a loser who thinks he’s born to win.” Tien says

“Quite Ironic, coming from you.” Gencha says, with crossed arms.

Tien turns to Gencha with a smirk, “Surprised that with those horns, no one’s been injured yet.” Tien says

“Surprised that with that third eye, no one’s poked it out yet.” Gencha says, getting serious

“That’s because they couldn’t get the chance to.” Tien says

Gencha grunts.

“Hello! Can you hear me in the back? Participants come forward!” the Announcer says

Everyone walks up

“Fighters will be paired off in the same fashion as in the elimination round. When your name is called, please step up and choose a number from the box. First up, Jackie Chun.” Announcer says

Gencha thinks to himself, he has to get a match with Goku.

Jackie Chun is given number 4

Yamcha gets Number 1

Gencha got 7

Tien got number 2

Man-wolf got 3

Chiaotzu got number 5

Krillin got Number 6

And finally….Goku got 8

Gencha goes wide eyed with glee at hearing that he will be paired up against Goku

“I anticipated that you’d want to eat before your match, so we’re prepared for you this time.” the Announcer says to Goku

“That’s great.” Goku says, excited

“Goku!” Gencha says, trying to get Goku’s attention

Goku turns to Gencha.

“I want you to bring your very best. Don’t hold back, not even a little. Because I won’t.” Gencha says

Goku nods, “Yeah!” Goku says

Everyone got prepared for the first match. And of course….Goku got to feasting. The first match is up. Gencha, Krillin, and Goku watched intently as Yamcha and Tien fought. The match feels like it lasts forever. Yamcha and Tien seem equally matched. Yamcha even managed to pull off the incredible Kamehameha Technique.

Gencha goes wide eyed, “Only Goku and I have been able to achieve the Kamehameha. I can’t believe Yamcha learned to do it too.”

Eventually, however, Tien got the best of Yamcha and defeated him with a kick to the gut. Not only that, but he broke Yamcha’s leg too.

Gencha goes wide eyed, “HEY!!! WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!”

Goku quickly rushes to Yamcha.

Yamcha is knocked out and loses the match.

“Grrrrrr, this isn’t over. You didn’t have to break his leg. He was already unconscious! You did it to be mean!” Goku says

Tien chuckles at this, “The outcome is still the same kid, I won. Tough break.”

“Tch, I’ll get him for that.” Gencha says, clenching his fist.

The match is the next day and Gencha doesn’t waste a second to visit Yamcha in the hospital.

“I know I let you down. I’m sorry.” Yamcha says, laying in his bed.

“Don’t say that, you didn’t let anyone down. You did your best. Everybody knows that. That’s all that counts.” Bulma says

Gencha crosses his arms, being indifferent to the situation.

“Yamcha, don’t worry about him. I’ll make sure he learns his lesson.” Goku says with a smile.

“No, it’s not worth it, Goku. That Tien is a ruthless man.” Yamcha says

“I know.” Goku says with a smirk

“Hmph. You can try. But you’d have to get through me first, Goku.” Gencha says with a smirk

Yamcha smiles, “At this point, I don’t know which of you two is gonna win.”

“Well, we’ll see when our match is up.” Gencha says, staring down at Goku

Goku stares back with the same grin, “Right.”

That night, the group all ate at a restaurant together.
