Witches

Hope's POV
Ryan went to the compound, and I sped to the cemetery to see the witches. Figured mise well see what all three factions are doing. Wolves, and Vampires are done. So far only the vampires seem to like Ryan and I being in charge. 

   I arrived at the cemetery, and heard talking in the one tomb. I sped there, and seen the witches, not all but maybe a dozen of them. I said, " Sophie. What's this about?"

  She said, " We were just talking about you."

  I said, " Oh, I know. Let me guess, you don't like the fact that I'm in charge being also part vampire, and part wolf."

  Sophie said, " No, we've learned to accept you, but it's about Ryan Clarke."

  I said, " What about him?"

   She held a card in her hand, and I took it. It's Ryan's business card from when he worked at Triad. Sophie said, " Why is he involved with Triad?"

  I said, " So, I see you all know about Triad."

  She said, " Yes, they've killed witches before from our coven. How can we trust him? He works with the men that killed our kind. How can you trust him?"

  I said, " He's different. He may have been involved in Triad, but he's never killed vampires, wolves, or witches. Only other mythical creatures. I did hear about Triad killing witches three years ago, but never once have any of yous told me it was from the coven."

  Sophie said, " So, you knew about the witches being killed?"

  I said, " Yes, I did. But those witches have been practicing expression, and were doomed to begin with."

  Sophie said, " How can you trust Ryan Clarke?"

  I said, " Believe me, I hated him at first, but we soon became friends, and turned into something more. He's told me everything, and showed me his memories, about his days at Triad. None of which involved on killing witches. Those witches were killed three years ago, Ryan was still dead, even then. The witch that brought back my father, brought back Ryan. She was trying to destroy my family, by bringing them back, and then to kill them again in front of us, then kill us. If you trust me, then you should trust him."

  She said, " Okay. I will discuss this with the witches, and see what we will come up with."

  I said, " That's all I ask."

  She smiled, and I sped out of there.

  I sped to my spot in the bayou, away from everyone, but by the lake. I sat down, and sighed. I looked over at the water, and it's so peaceful here. No one knows about this place, not even Ryan. I just like to get away from the city, and everyone. Lately it's been nonstop bickering with the factions.

  I laid down in the grass, and watched the clouds. I don't understand how my mom, and dad did this.

  An hour later, my phone rang, and I looked at the screen. Mom was FaceTiming me. I answered it, and said, " Hey, Mom."

  She said, " Hey, how's everything?"

  I said, " Fine. The vampires, and witches are finally on board with Ryan and I in charge. It's the wolves that won't give in. They are trying to push me out of being alpha."

  Mom said, " They can't do that. Don't worry, it will get easier."

  I said, " How did you and Dad still have time to be alone with all of these things going on?"

  Mom said, " Well, the factions never underestimated your fathers rule. They accepted me, quickly. I guess it's because you are all three factions combined, they will accept it. Give it time. We just always made time. Sometimes when your uncle Elijah was alive, he looked over the city while, Nik and I went away for a week or weekend."

  I said, " Okay. Ryan and I haven't had much us time."

  Mom said, " It will get better, I promise."

  I smiled, and said, " Okay. Any leads yet?"

  She said, " Yeah, one. Your father, and I are going to the Appalachian mountains to hunt for this one artifact."

  I said, " Alright. Don't hold your breath. Every lead you ran down, came to a dead end, same on our end."

  She said, " I won't give out hope."

  I gave her a look, and she said, " Oh, come on. That was funny."

  We laughed, and I said, " Alright, I gotta go."

  She said, " Love you, honey."

  I said, " Love you, Mom."

  I hung up and put my phone back in my pocket. The sun went down, and it's dark out. I got up, and sped to the compound.

  I arrived at the compound, and sped upstairs to our room. I walked inside, and seen Ryan in bed, shirtless. I said, " Long day."

  He nodded, and I went to the bathroom, and got a shower. After my shower, I put on one of Ryan's shirts, and walked inside the room. I laid down next to Ryan, and kissed his lips.

He said, " How did the witches go?"

  I said, " Good. They found one of your triad cards, and were concerned. I put their concerns away, and told them to trust you."

  He said, " Got it. Your uncles found a lead, and left for a few days."

  I said, " So, that's why you were talking with them."

  He said, " Yeah, they didn't want me to tell you, but you know I can't keep anything from you."

  I said, " Mom and Dad found a lead to in the mountains."

  He said, " Goodnight, Hope."

  I said, " Goodnight, Ryan."

  He kissed my head, and I soon fell asleep.
