The emperor's words are what shocked both me and the empress. Before the empress could speak I decided to accept his terms.

"Very well, I accept your challenge."

"Then it is settled. Empress, before you speak, I understand that she is applying to be your bodyguard. But I ask you to not intervene. She is a child, based on how well she does in the duel, we will decide whether or not she is fit for the position."
The emperor seemed to know that the empress didn't like the idea of a, from her point of view, grown, experienced man, who is also an emperor, dueling with a frail looking teenage girl.

"We shall be dueling at 6:00pm sharp, in here. If you aren't here by then, you will have to leave."

The empress sighed, then spoke," very well,  I will have someone give you a tour of the palace and show you your chambers, you can stay there until the time of the duel." She then proceeded to look at one of the guards buy the door, he(?) Then approached me.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity, your highness'" I curtsey and follow the knight out.

I voiced my thoughts to Sovieshu. He seemed to think the same as he hummed in agreement.

"Well, we better get back to work, you're going to have to get quite a lot done because you'll need time to prepare to the duel."

"Of course, though I'll be honest and say I don't think it's going to last long. She's a child, what could she be possibly capable of doing?"
