It had been a few days now. My journey was going well. Though I did encounter very strange people.

For example on the first day I encountered a school with kids. But they looked weird. One girl had pink hair and skin while someone else had a bird head. They were walking in broad daylight and showed no signs of wanting to attack any other students. I decided to send a message via my crow to maste-sister just incase they were like the other demon girl. I think her name was nezuko.

On the second day I encountered a group of people who looked to be in a gang. They met up at a shrine. Most of them looked quite young, younger than me, 14 maybe? The leader was not what I expected. He was a short boy, around 5'3. He had shoulder length ashy blonde hair, the front was tied up in a small ponytail in the back to keep it out of his face. He had black eyes. Not dark brown, but black. It might've been the lighting but no pupils were visible either.

There was also another guy. Quite tall. I expected him to be the boss. He had long ashy blonde hair that was braided at the back with his side's shaved and a few strands of  hair in the front. He also had a dragon tattoo on his temple. He too, had pupilless black eyes.

'perhaps the two were related' was my thought

The third day was also strange. I met two men who were practically identical if it wasn't for the age. Maybe they were father and son. They both had black hair in a bowl cut and they were wearing green jumpsuits with green vests and orange leg warmers. They asked me if I knew where I was going since I was in an apparently dangerous place. I just smiled and left. They were silent for a bit. Probably confused. A second later I heard them preaching about 'youth'. How odd.

Today had gone smoothly. I was approaching the boarders of a village located in the eastern empire, where the palace was located. It was nearly night time. I set up camp and decided to scout the area for demons. Though It was best to wait until everyone was asleep. To avoid any suspicion.

' hm? Strange. I've never seen her here before. Did she travel here? I don't see a horse or a carriage anywhere. Did she send it back? Or did she come on foot? And why does she have a katana? Is she a threat?'

I thought about it for a while. I had just come here to visit my sister for a day, as I worked far away. But never in my life have I seen this girl. Nor anyone like her. She looked to be 15-16 years old. She was wearing a button down navy blue shirt with single white stripes on the collar. She was also wearing a knee-length skirt with a white belt. Attached to that was what looked like a sheathed katana. It might've been just the sheath to keep criminals away. It's not that uncommon for people to carry fake weapons. She also had a fringe and her hair was in a side ponytail, held in place with a green and pink butterfly clip. She had large, gentle eyes of what looked like a pink-lilac colour that were framed by thick eyelashes.

'...'

' should I approach her?'

'she could be a threat if that's a real katana'

' it's best to do it now then regret it later.'

I began to approach the girl. She seemed to be unaware of my presence, she was just watching the people pass.

' is the waiting for something. Or maybe someone is coming to meet her?'

I was finally close enough for her to hear me.

"Excuse me, miss"

A few minutes earlier. Kanao's pov.

I decided to stay in my place and watch the villagers enjoying their night. I was about to jump to a tree to get a better view. That was until I felt a presence. It wasn't a demon. But I could tell they were strong. I decided to sit in place and wait to see if they would approach me or leave. I managed to catch a small glimpse of them from the corner of my eye. I couldn't make out their face. But they had the structure of a male.

' i shouldn't assume their gender'

They were wearing a black button down shirt with a large loose white bow on his collar. He was also wearing a red blazer with golden linings. And a pair of simple white jeans.

(A/n basically the outfit he was first shown in. I'm sorry but I don't know how to describe clothes very well)

This is the outfit they're wearing. I couldn't find the full outfit. This is the closest I could find to what I described just imagine it with a large loose white bow and gold linings)

I was in the middle of thinking why he was just standing there and not moving. What did he want? Was he debating whether to approach me or not? I was hoping he'd leave soon because it was almost 11pm and the streets were finally beginning to empty. I stopped thinking about it and braced myself and readied my coin knowing there were questions they wanted to ask.

"Excuse me, miss"
