I'll say this now that I started this MONTHS ago I tell you, but I've been severely out of touch with both fandoms and is now obsessed with BSD, especially now that I'm caught up with the manga. This chapter is pretty much half as short as the usual and isnt that good, I apologize for that. But I might start another story soon. This is just a practice book and I will update whenever I have motivation. Thank you for reading.

Kanao's pov

"First, you are to be waiting by my door by 7:30. Before that, I expect that you are ready and have eaten something." The Empress began as she was neatening some papers and neatly setting them aside before clasping her hands Infront of her on the desk.

'by 7:30am? I'll have to rearrange some things to get a good amount of sleep and patrol.' It was going to be a problem if I can't sleep well given I can't afford to be off guard. Considering that demons are only out at night usually meant that I would rest in the day but in this situation it isn't possible.

"Next, you have your own designated meal times and 2 breaks during the day. Each half and hour. They are at set times, if you miss them, then you simply won't have a break. Understood?" Her voice was stern, but her words were dishonest. I assume it was because she needed to make sure that I would be on schedule.

"You also need to know the minimum of basic etiquette." She drew a breath, I simply stood still and nodded.

"Finally, you are not to act by yourself unless my, or someone else is in danger and needs help immediately."

"Am I clear?"

"Yes, your highness." Besides etiquette, it was no different to the estate. Superior, orders, coin, schedule, possible missions.

"Good. Now, I will be travelling tomorrow for 3 days. Until then, my ladies-in-waiting will help you and you will be recieving orders from the emperor."

"Understood."
'A 3 day trip. At least now I have time to sort out a schedule so I can still patrol, sleep well and preform bodyguard duties properly.'

" You have the rest of the night to yourself, I'll be leaving at 6 am tomorrow, you must still be at my door at 7:30. There will be a paper copy of your schedule on the desk in your chambers. Dismissed." She seemed tired. There was definetly much on her mind like she didn't want to do something.

I couldn't ask her so at her word I bowed and left.

The next day was uneventful, I met her ladies in waiting, was informed of other duties and sorted my schedule out

The day after I was informed that the Emperor was going on a hunting trip, yet when he came back there was an unexpected guest with him.
Me and her highness' ladies in waiting had to clean her up and get her situated. I soon learned that her name was Rashta. She was... An interesting girl. She's very expressive of her emotions and doesn't have a filter

Today my morning was the same with the addition of the empress coming back from her trip. Lady Laura was complaining about the new ,im hoping, temporary addition to the palace. Just as she was complaining, the empress came in.

"Did something happen while I was gone?" She sat down in her chair after briefly hearing lady Laura's previous ranting.
I wouldn't think it's a good idea to tell her the news, (considering the rumour going around that the Emperor is being unfaithful and is considering Rashta as his concubine) especially having just come back from a 3 day trip.
But it wasn't my business to get involved, I'm here on a mission, and that's that.

Ok so long story short, it's been a few months that's consisted of me loosing motivation, low mental health and other things. I feel guilty for not posting but I've been out of TRE fandom so I don't really feel like writing this, I'll update when I feel like it so please do expect a long break. I might start something else though seeing my newly ( not really) found BSD obsession
