[This chapter contains Bullying and vulgar words]
_Nina_
My first day of school was a real drag. I got up, freshened up, and trudged off to school. While I was organizing my books in my locker, someone called out to me.
"Hey, how are you doing, mate?" someone asked.
"Oh, Janice, everything is fine," I responded. We were chatting about random stuff when Janice suddenly went quiet. It was weird. I asked, "Are you alright?" She replied, "Yeah, I am fine. Let's go to our classroom."
With plenty of time to kill, I suggested, "Hey, we've got some time, why don't we take a stroll around?" Her eyes darted toward someone and then down to the floor. I turned to see a handsome guy standing next to Ethan and some of his friends. It wasn't Ethan she was looking at, though. Her eyes were locked on the tall guy with brown hair and dark, soulful eyes.
The moment he glanced at her, she quickly looked away and accidentally bumped her head against the locker, landing on the ground. "Oh my god, are you okay?" I exclaimed, rushing to help her up. The boy walked over and extended his hand to her.
"You should be careful," he said. She blushed and answered his question, "Are you hurt?" while grabbing his hand to stand up. "Thanks, but I am fine," she said. He nodded, "That's good to hear."
They were acting like they had a crush on each other. Janice, with her striking beauty, heart-stopping smile, soft, glossy skin, big dark green eyes, and long, dark olive hair, was easy to admire.
They seemed like they could be the perfect couple. I felt like an outsider, watching their interactions as a third wheel. After giving them some time, I left for my classroom.
Taking a seat, I gazed out the window, enjoying the peace until something wet hit me. My clothes started getting soaked. I turned to see that, of course, it was Emily.
I looked down and saw I was drenched in white fluid. Anger surged through me as I realized it was a milk packet.
Emily, seeing my fury, exclaimed, "OMG, Bitch, you have so much sperm on you. Now suck," prompting laughter from her foolish friends. Rolling my eyes, I retorted, "Yeah, your boyfriend's sperm."
Emily scoffed, "Ethan could never be interested in you." Wiping my dress, I glanced at her. "So he is your boyfriend? You two are as annoying as hell."
Emily snapped, "Huh! Who's the annoying one here, everyone? Me or this slut?" One of her friends chimed in, "Of course this
slut." Emily, grabbing my collar, sneered, "You annoying bitch, go back to where you belong."
"To be honest, the only annoying bitch here is you, Emily." Everyone turned to see Ethan standing there.
"What?" Emily stammered, her voice tinged with disappointment. Ethan approached, kicking Emily's hand off my collar, causing her to fall and shocking everyone.
I stood up, remarking, "What a drama."
Ignoring the chaos, I left the classroom to get my extra dress from my locker. I pulled out another outfit, and as I turned, I saw Ethan. "You all ruined my morning. I'm not in the mood to fight over your so-called girlfriend," I stated, feeling a mix of nervousness and unfamiliarity as he laughed at my words.
Why does he have to be that handsome? Goddammit!
"You really should quit doing that," I uttered.
Raising an eyebrow, he questioned, "Doing what?"
I had my locker open. Within it, he saw my card. He extracted it. "What are you doing?" I tried to take it from him, but he was tall enough to keep it out of my reach. "Give it back to me," I said.
"Amazing name," he remarked. "What?" I questioned. "Nice to meet you, Nina Elizabeth, um, or should I say Ely?" he replied.
I rolled my eyes and replied, "No, you better not."
"Well, I will do it without a doubt now," he declared. He returned my ID to me. "I will see you after school, Ely," he said with a wink. He went to his classroom, leaving me alone. Disgust was visible on my face.
What a nightmare I now have to face.
I got dressed again and returned to my classroom. The classes quickly became dull. Abruptly, someone threw a roll of paper at me. I became irritated and turned to face the boy. In a whisper, he said, "Open it." I lifted the paper from beneath the table.
It stated,
If you are up for it, let us go see a movie after school. I understand that you are new and do not know me yet, but if you would like, we can become great friends and occasionally hang out. I mean no harm at all. I hope you can understand that, despite my best efforts to make friends with everyone, there are some people who bully me. Just so you know, my name is Dylan. If you are willing, please wait for me this evening at this location.
(Place xxxx), so we can hang out, right?
⭕Yes No⭕
The boy seemed friendly to me as I observed him. With his blonde hair and blue eyes, he exuded beauty.
How come everyone is so attractive here?
Though it would not hurt to at least be friends, we can be friends.
I wrote, "Yes," after selecting that option.
My name is Nina, in case you did not know.
I flung the paper back toward him. He grinned as he glanced at the paper.
His smile is really lovely, too.
I left school early so that no one could bother me later. I had had enough of their drama. I showered and prepared myself. I proceeded to the location where he instructed me to go. I noticed him leaning against a tree. His appearance was amazing.
"Hey, Dylan, right?" I asked. "Yes, Nina. At last, you arrived," he answered.
"Obviously, I never break my promise," I grinned. He responded, seeming somewhat impressed, saying, "Cool!" I replied, "Yeah, let us go, buddy," with a giggle.
He asked to drop me off at home after the film. I declined, stating that I had some work to do. To be honest, though, I enjoy returning home by myself.
While strolling home, I sensed an unfamiliar presence. I chose to ignore it until he said, "That is strange that Dylan treats you so well."
I recognized the voice immediately.
"Okay, so? Mr. Ethan, it's really strange that you are following me."
Why is he always around me?
"Well, Miss Ely, I cannot trust Dylan with you."
"Why not? Are you afraid that I might develop feelings for him?"
"If you knew him, you would have questioned it yourself."
"It is none of your business. I can recognize people better."
"Oh yeah? So why did you not realize Dylan was a jerk?"
"Yeah? Unlike assholes like you, he's not."
"Assholes like me have better taste. Just be cautious, and don't think I was wrong about Dylan if something happens."
"As if anything will happen, you creepy man. Stop following me."
As soon as I got home, I yelled, "Leave me the fuck alone," and hurried inside to avoid my neighbors hearing me scream and misinterpreting the situation.
I thought he wouldn't say anything, but he did.
He shouted, "I love you too!" I quickly shut the door behind me. "What the heck?" I exclaimed.
Why, upon hearing him say that, did I get shivers? Why are you acting this way, Nina?
Why would he follow me?
