days of december ; paddy holland

𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁

You stretched as you got out of bed the next morning, swinging your feet over the side of the bed, shivers running up your spine as your feet touched the floor. You looked at your alarm clock, the time reading 8:15am.

You took a long hot shower before changing into one of Paddy's hoodies and leggings before skipping down the stairs to the kitchen to make yourself breakfast.

As you walked in, Tessa came running up to your feet. You smiled as you bent down to pet the canine, her paws resting against your thighs as you scratched behind her ears, earning a content bark from the cute dog in front of you.

"You wanna go for a walk girl?" you asked the dog, making her bark, "Alright, I'll go get Paddy" you said as you ran up the stairs, lightly knocking on the redhead boys bedroom door.

He appeared a few seconds later, a random white t-shirt hanging loosely on his figure, "You're up early" he stated, leaning against the doorframe.

"Tessa wants to go for a walk, you wanna come?" you asked as the boy yawned.

"Yeah let's go" he said as he grabbed a hoodie before following you down the stairs where the energetic dog was waiting for you.

You clipped the leash onto Tessa's collar, keeping a firm grip as you unlocked the door, stepping out into the... snow?!

"It's snowing" you laughed as you carefully walked down the steps, Tessa running ahead of you.

Paddy closed the door behind you, joining you and Tessa at the bottom of the stairs.

Tessa started running along the pavement, making you pull the leash back, "Heel Tessa heel" you said as she slowed down, walking by your side.

"She never listens to me" Paddy chuckled as he looped his arm in yours, sliding his hand down your arm to intertwine his fingers with yours.

Thank god it was cold or your blush would have been more evident. You looked down at your intertwined fingers, remembering all the times he had held your hand over the years, or when he would hug you, or comfort you, or kiss your forehead.

But god knew that you wanted his hands somewhere else. There had been various times where you wished he would touch you, run his hands against you thighs, or caress you waist, or-

"Y/n you alright?" Paddy snapped you out of your not so innocent train of thought.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, just thinking" you said as you have the boy a weak smile as he squeezed your hand softly.

The rest of the Hollands came down for breakfast, noticing the absence of you and the youngest Holland.

"Anyone seen Y/n and Paddy?" Sam asked as he sipped his tea.

"Went to walk Tessa" Tom wiggled his eyebrows, making everyone laugh.

"God they're so in love that it's blinding them" Sam commented, "No wonder they say love is blind" he rolled his eyes.

"I bet you they'll get together before christmas" Harry said, sticking out his hand.

"Well I bet you 50 quid it'll take them until christmas" Nikki spoke up, stepping forward, "I wouldn't mind some extra cash" she shrugged as she shook Harry's hand.

"Mum you've got bleach right?" Tom asked the redhead woman next to him, who nodded, "Good because I'm going to need it when I walk in on them making out" he fake gagged.

"Don't even get me started on that" Dominic said, "I've already walked in on you and Z, I don't want to bleach my eyes again" he said as he pointed sternly at his eldest son, who scratched the back of his neck.

"But you have to admit that they would be cute together" Nikki commented as she slapped her husbands chest playfully. Dominic nodded in agreement.

"You're just happy you'd have Y/n as your daughter-in-law" Sam smirked at his mum, who'd smile only became bigger.

"Would you prefer someone Paddy brings home one day or Y/N?" she stated, silence in the kitchen, "That's what I thought" she smirked.

"Mum's got a point, we know Y/n would never hurt Paddy, unlike someone random girl he would bring home" Tom said, "She's perfect for him"

You and Paddy walked through Hyde Park in silence, the only noise being the snow crunching beneath your feet and Tessa running around. You watched as the dog ran around in the snow, her tail wagging vigorously. As quiet chuckle left your lips, causing Paddy to look at you briefly.

"You sure you're ok, you've been awfully quiet" Paddy commented, making you sigh.

"Just thinking" you said again, "About what?" he asked.

"About my parents, things haven't been great lately" you admitted looking at the ground as you continued to walk. Your parents was a delicate topic, the Hollands and Mikey being the only ones who knew about your not so perfect family.

"That bad huh?" the redhead boy said as he grabbed your hand, rubbing his thumb over your knuckles. You nodded, "You can talk to me y'know" he reassured you.

"Yeah I know" you smiled softly.

The kitchen door opened, Tessa running in, followed by you and Paddy, both yours cheeks red from the cold.

"It's fucking freezing out there" you groaned as you closed the door, still shivering.

Nikki came walking in, a soft smile as she looked at both of you, "I'll get the kettle running" she laughed a she disappeared into the kitchen.

"Remind me to wear 10 more layers next time" you said as you sat down on the sofa, Paddy flopping on top of you, making you laugh.

"I can't feel my toes" he whined, "I'm not carrying you" you said bluntly, making him fake pout at you.

"Hey no don't give me those eyes Mr" you laughed, Nikki's voice coming from the kitchen just after.

"Paddy come get your tea" she called making the boy get off the couch, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead before disappearing into the kitchen, leaving you a blushing mess.
