𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀

The last day of the year had finally rolled around, and so had the cold weather. Tom and Sam had gone shopping, leaving you, Paddy and Harry in the comfort of the warm house.

You had taken the liberty of lighting the fire, the orange flames lighting up the corner of the living room. Jett hopped onto the sofa, snuggling next to you as you sipped your tea.

A few moments later, you heard two voices calling you from upstairs. You trudged up the stairs, walking into Paddy's room, where you found the two redhead boys sat on the bed, a phone propped up against a the window.

"What's up?" you asked as you waltzed in. A broad smile spread across Paddy's face as he got a good look at you. You were wearing one of his white tshirts and a pair of what he guessed were his tracksuit trousers. And he absolutely loved it.

"We're going live with Tom n Sam" Harry said as you hopped onto the bed, giving Paddy a light peck on the cheek. The sound of Tom's voice came through, followed by his smiley face appearing in the bottom corner of the screen.

"Hey mate, just thought we'd go live" Paddy said as the comments came flying in.

"How about we answer some questions while we're here?" you suggested as you got comfortable on the bed, Paddy's hand mindlessly grabbing yours, gently rubbing his thumb over your knuckles.

Harry nodded, "Ok lets do it. First question; What are Tom and Sam doing? They're at Tesco shopping for food and drink for our New Years party"

The redhead boy continued to scroll through the comments until you spoke up, "Oooo that's a good one" you said as you pointed at a question, making Harry chuckle.

"Does Paddy have a girlfriend?" Paddy laughed, hanging his head, the heat rising to his cheeks, "Yes I do" he said as you gasped, "Wait you do? How come I don't know about this?" you quizzed sarcastically, giving the boy a wink, meaning to just go along with it.

Paddy was doing pretty well at concealing his laughter at both your and his attempt at acting, where as you struggling at the fact that your voice sounded like a pick me girl, when she finds out the guy she likes is dating someone else.

"Oh that's a good question. Who's the girl?" Paddy chuckled, "She's my best friend Y/n" he said as he now gave you a reassuring wink.

The three of you continued to answer questions while Tom and Sam continued shopping. After about fifteen minutes of the two boys roaming the aisles, they finally came to the drinks aisle.

"What do you guys think of buying tequila?" Sam asked, making you three turn your attention to the boy on the screen instead of everyone's questions, "Tequila, rum and beer sounds good to me" you said as both Paddy and Harry turned to look at you with surprised expressions.

You looked back at them both, "Oh come on, you really think I stick to drinking, what? Water? Girls gotta have some fun" you shrugged.

After Harry had ended the live and left the room, Paddy turned to look at you, "Well you're quite the actress aren't you darling?" he said as you chuckled.

"So do you want to tell me about your girlfriend huh?" you smirked as Paddy pulled you to lay down with him.

"Well she's kind, generous, smart, maybe a bit too much for my liking" you smiled, "And she's extremely brave, and she's absolutely stunning. And I truly love her, so much" he finished. You were absolutely speechless, looking at Paddy with tears in your eyes.

You were utterly in love with the boy in front of you. You'd been in love with him since you were little. All the times you would play Star Wars together as kids and you'd be Princess Leia and he'd be Han Solo, or all the pretend weddings between the two of you had made you grown to adore the boy even more.

Paddy recalled the time he truly knew he was in love with you. The twins birthday was coming up, so you and him decided to snag some of the blueberry cupcakes Nikki had made. You both hid in the treehouse, eating while you danced around. He only smiled as his eyes remained glued on you.

To him, you were the prettiest girl even; your smile could light up a room and your positive energy was contagious.

Paddy pulled you into him, you head nestled against his chest. "I love you" you mumbled against his chest. The boy smiled down at you, "It's crazy how we've been together for six days and yet I've loved you for years" he said as he wrapped his arms around you.

You closed your eyes, basking in his warmth. It was in moments like these that you wished the world would just freeze so you could stay in the moment forever.

"Hey guys Tom n Sam are h-" Harry walked in, his words being cut short when he saw you two cuddling. "Sorry to interrupt. Just wanted to let you two know that Tom and Sam are back" he said before he left the room.

The New Year's party wax in full swing. Zendaya had come over, along with Tuwaine and Harrison; who brought his girlfriend Gracie with him. Ashley had shown up too, without her boyfriend, much to your surprise, with two bottle of champagne, not to your surprise. Tom had set up the drink; ranging from tequila shots to juice and lemonade.

The timer on Paddy's phone went off, signalling that it was 11:59pm, one minute left until midnight.

Everyone paired up; well except for Tuwaine, Harry and Ashley who stood off to the side as the four couples stood in the middle of the living room.

Tuwaine handed out some shots, you flipped it down your throat in one swift swig. Harry quickly pulled out his camera, ready to record the countdown. He began to show the countdown.

"5!"

Paddy gave you a soft smile as he pulled you close, his breath lightly fanning your face.

"4!"

You laughed as you looped your arms around his neck.

"3!"

Paddy smiled as he said, "I know I didn't completely say it back a few hours ago, but I love you Y/n. Happy New Year"

"2!"

You reciprocated his smile, "Happy New Year Paddy"

"1!"

As the three singles on the side shouted 'Happy New Year', your lips collided with Paddy's in a tender kiss.

It was like time had stopped, you and Paddy seeming like the only people in the room. Paddy's soft hand gripped your waist, his thumbs rubbing soft circles against the fabric of your dress.

When you two pulled away, your rested your forehead against his, catching your breath. Your lips turned upwards as looked at Paddy's slightly swollen lips; as were yours

As your senses finally came back to reality, you noticed the lingering silence. You turned your head to see Harry with his camera pouting at you two, a big smile on his face as he recorded everything.

"Oh god" you groaned as you hid your face in Paddy's chest, trying to hide your blush.

"No no no, you are not hiding your pretty face" Paddy smirked at the sight of your red cheeks, giving you a light kiss.

"Happy New Year darling"
