Kendall Jenner's mind

(8:47 PM Friday)

"Mom, it's no use, forget it," I said, shutting the refrigerator door and turning to mom. She had a hawk-like look on her face, telling me otherwise that everything I was attempting was never going to succeed and I should probably head to bed before she gets mad.

Mom sighed as she brought her wrinkled old-mom hands to rub the bridge of her nose. "It will work out eventually, and besides you won't really have to do it forever, Nicole Jenner. Now, go to bed, it's getting really late," Mom said, looking up at me from her cat glasses.

I used to think they prevented her from looking like a hawk, but I was wrong... they only made her look worse. Apparently, she needs them. I'm not sure if she needs needs them, or if they were just so she could look better.

"You never order Kendall to head to bed early, mom, what's the rush tonight?" Khloe, my older sister said as she entered the kitchen.

Mom took off her glasses and placed them on the book she was reading. "Your sister is supposed to be meeting Nick Jonas tomorrow, and I want her to look nice for it. I don't want there to be bags underneath her eyes. Everyone knows it makes her look ugly." I tried to not look offended as she continued, brushing off the fact that she even mentioned that bags under my eyes made me look ugly. "It's all for the best," she added, turning to me as I groaned.

"I don't wanna meet Nick or whatever—" My mind scrambled and searched for a desperate way to call it off. "Can't you just cancel it or something? Tell them that I'm allergic to boys who have bad attitudes and act like dicks," I said, mindfully, pulling myself together, making Khloe snort out her milk.

Mom gave me 'the look' and screwed up her face. She then chuckled, almost mockishly. "Oh, I'm sorry, was I the only one who remembered that time you told me how badly you wanted a boyfriend? Well, here you go! You got one; and even a hot one, I might add— so what's the problem? Have you started liking girls?"

I couldn't help but facepalm myself, "No—! I still like boys, but not when I don't even know them— how is everything supposed to be memorable when I don't even know this guy I'm supposedly supposed to be 'dating'!?"

Mom sighed, sounding as though she had enough of me arguing with her. "You will get to know him— we'll all learn new things about both you and him," she said, trying to convince me somehow. Definitely wasn't working, but it calmed down my nerves a little. "It's for both of your sakes here, Kendall. For yours, and his'. His management team made a deal with me—"

And I felt like a rebel again. "Oh, so I'm not supposed to have a say in anything at all anymore, huh?" I said, sagely. "Great, I can't even take control over what I do without the help of a momager—"

"I'm helping you, Kendall. I'm not taking control over you," Mom said coldly, taking a sip of her tea.

Khloe cleared her throat, most probably getting quite excited. "Actually, Kendall's quite right. You don't actually have to do everything for her... Besides, Kendall has a choice on whether she wants to date someone or not— perhaps this Nate guy—"
