You still make me nervous when you walk in the room
Them butterflies they come alive when I'm next to you
Over and over the only truth
Everything comes back to you

This Town - Niall Horan

Kendall Jenner's POV

(1:37 PM Saturday)

Nick was silent as he walked back to his car. His broad back was walking quickly in front of me, making quite a shadow behind him. He changed from his golf clothes into a black, rolled-up sleeves shirt with black jeans and boots.

His fashion sense was authentically so natural, I am so shocked he even had time to dress.

We got to his car and he opened the door for me, arching his eyebrow for me to go in. I gave him a look before stepping in.

"Where are we planning on going?" Nick said, walking around the hood of the car to the driver's seat. "You know I'm not gonna take you home, right? That'd be boring."

I squinted, "Boring—? Boring!?" I repeated, thrashing in my seat. He eyed me in annoyance.

"Why yes, boring. You're not really tired, are you?" he asked again, making me shake with fury at the sight of his face.

"Yes, I am tired, so take me home."

Nick chuckled, "No, you were being really really bad back there, so... punishments always apply with me." I felt a large lump in my throat as he took a sharp turn towards the bottom of the hill. "Have you ever been down this road before?" he asked.

I shook my head, "Nope. Never. Is this still even part of California?" I said, leaning forward, trying to distract myself from what could go so wrong.

"Yeah, it's still part of California. California's like, huge. I failed at geology, so don't expect me to know how big California is."

I couldn't help but chuckle, "I really am not surprised, and did not expect you to know how big California is. Is that a lake I see?" I asked, trying to keep the concern out of my voice.

Nick smirked, "Good you noticed." I was thrown back into my seat as Nick turned again, nearly tipping the car over. I grasped the edge of the seat tightly, glancing at Nick, who was giving me a death glare.

"What're you doing!?" he scolded, pulling over at the side of the empty road. "Are you crazy— put the damn seatbelt on— do you have a death wish or something!?"

I eyed him testily, "I mean, should I be worried you're not trying to kill me?"
