"So how do you want to do this?" Draco asks.
"We'll make an entrance in the Great Hall tomorrow during breakfast. We enter a bit late, when most people will be there. We hold hands, you kiss me on my cheek when we parts ways to our own tables. I think that should catch enough people's attention to get the gossip going." Hermione answers.
"You had that planned out already?"
Hermione rolls her eyes. "Duh."
Draco thinks for a moment. "Do I really have to hold your hand and kiss your cheek?" He wrinkles his nose at the thought.
"If you want to make people believe this you'll have to touch me at least some times Malfoy. Get over it. If you're that desperate you can just go wash off afterwards. Don't be a baby."
He scoffs. "I am not being a baby."
Hermione taps her foot impatiently. "Then stop acting like one. You won't die from touching me, sadly enough..."
Draco starts to laugh but quickly tries to cover it up by pretending to cough.
"Did you just laugh at something I said Malfoy? Hermione asks while raising an eyebrow. A smirk starts spreading across her face.
"I most certainly did not. I was simply caught of guard by a cough. You're not funny." He tries to sound sure of himself as he says this, but fails somewhat.
She eyes him critically for a moment. "Whatever you say Malfoy. Anyway, are you in? Do you agree to the plan?"
Draco ponders the plan for another moment.
Now that there's a plan for how to do this, it has become more real.
Is he sure that he really wants to start on this journey? Once they begin this thing, there is no going back.
"Okay. Yes, I agree. But I want to make myself clear that hand holding and a brief kiss on the cheek is as far as we'll ever take it. I have no desire to kiss you, ever. If it's absolutely necessary we can consider a hug, at most. But everything should be kept at a bare minimum. Those are my terms."
Hermione rolls her eyes and sighs, "I have no desire to be close to you or kiss you either, Malfoy. So we should be good. But I'm willing to do what it takes to get my revenge. No one is going to stop me from reaching my goals."
The last bit came out more heated than she intended it to be, but now that she has her eyes on the price her Gryffindor passion is coming to the service. Her competitive side, too, of course.
Draco looks at her as she is getting a bit riled up. He has to admit that she is a little scary when she is passionate like that. She balls her hands into fists, her cheeks flush red a little and her eyes are alight with determination.
It's intimidating.
And a little sexy.
Wait, what?
No it's not.
He shakes his head to clear his mind. It must just be influence from that stupid thing Blaise said. It's messing with his head.
"Alright Granger calm down. Don't get your knickers in a twist. You'll get your revenge and I'll get my fun tormenting Potter and Weasley. We'll make our entrance tomorrow. Let's meet here at 8 AM. It should be the busiest by then."
Hermione composes herself again and takes a deep breath. "Okay. See you at 8."
"See you then Granger." Malfoy replies before he turns around and walks away. He wants to get away as quickly as he can. He has had quite enough of Granger for one night.
