In this part of the world, money, fame, and power are everything. In the world of trade, how you present yourself is everything. How you play your cards on the tables How will you approach your steps in the game of chess? Everything in this world is something that influences everything, even in the tiniest details.
-Hildem-
Cheers and laughter amongst the nobles are audible as the party passes through the streets. They were greeted with unwelcoming stares as they progressed towards the abode of the contractor, Rustam.
As he clapped his hand, the bodyguards at the gate dispersed and opened the door for them to enter. The maids greeted Rustam as they went up the stairs and towards the door to his home. Everything about his own home was unique, from the exterior designs to the architectural designs. It was surely more eye-catching than most of the houses presented outside. The party entered and was greeted by a large marble stone waterfall statue. It was adorned with golden linings. The water, on the other hand, was dressed with lilies and flower petals.
"Do make yourself at home. Excuse me while I attend to some matters beforehand," he said as he turned around and casually walked away. Meanwhile, Zach and the others were directed towards a large room with a fireplace in the corner and a cozy atmosphere. There were also a dozen bookshelves in there. In the meantime, "Please wait here," said the young maiden before taking her leave.
"Haa-" Brandt took a lead in slouching into the couch. The expression on his face shows how comfortable it was, as he was all relaxed.
There was a tea set on the table as well as some desserts to fill it with. The hall area was quiet, only the ambient sound of a crackling fire as well as the blowing winds through the curtains.
"So this is the life of being a noble; pretty boring if you ask me," said Zach.
"Rich people only care about their egos, to be honest, that's why they're so full of themselves," Airis said as she looked out the window, viewing the streets of Hildem.
Well, we're not gon na stay here for so long. We're gon na finish our job and get the heck out of here," Brandt said as he picked up a piece of cookie and played it around in his hand.
"Though remember what the commoners said? There's some nasty things going on in this city, "Carol said.
Listen, kid, a lot of things happen in the outside world, and not everything is our problem to deal with it. (yawn*) Zach was all tired. Everything he felt about Hildem was utterly pure boredom.
Just as Zach stood up, someone came in and called them out, gentlemen.
When Rustam came in, he was dressed differently. His white hair complimented that of his black suit. He came down and greeted his guests and proceeded to sit down with them.
As you may well know, a ruin has suddenly appeared on the outskirts of Hildem. It is infested with monsters, and it is threatening the safety of Hildem. The reason why I called out your party is because your reputation far exceeds that of the guild... Zach. "He points his attention towards Zach, who is sitting on the far end with Carol.
So the deal is for you to go inside the ruins and see if there is anything valuable as well as find the reason for its appearance. I trust that you can handle such a task.
"Yes, we'll be on it and be done with it in a jiffy."
"Splendid! Later on, "We will have you start on your work later on, but meanwhile, why don't you people take a rest for a while and have a leisurely walk on Hildem. It is, after all, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," he said in a joking manner.
