eight - school parking lot make-outs

——

saturday was the best night of my life. after our date, i thought y/n was going to kiss me but then she started to leave without even hugging me. i was kinda upset, but i understood. that was until she asked if she could kiss me and then did. i swear i saw god.

weirdly enough, y/n wasn't at school today. she wasn't in first period and i worried about her until i got a message from her saying she would be pretty late today. our shared lunch period rolled around and y/n was no where to be seen.

justin had the great idea for victoria and i to sit with their friend group at lunch since we would all definitely be seeing each other more often now that y/n and i had something going on.

the table was one of the longest tables the cafeteria had because of the large amount of people in y/n's friend group, so victoria and i both had enough space to sit. in all, the table now consisted of me, victoria, steve, justin, zayn, hailey, gigi and bella, camila, and normani. a shit ton of people, i know. if y/n were here, we would have a table of eleven.

it was only about 15 minutes into our fifty minute lunch period. victoria and i sat and talked to each other, occasionally joining in on the group's conversation. i sat peacefully eating until i felt a tap on my shoulder. it was zayn.

"hey, zayn. what's up?" i smiled at him. zayn was definitely attractive, but i didn't want him, i had y/n. he smiled back at me and scratched the side of his face.

"i just wanted to ask how your guys' date went on saturday." he spoke in his accent. i blushed at his words as i thought back to saturday night. the rest of the group turned to us so they could hear about it too.

"um, it was great. she took me to this diner and it was just—amazing." i blushed deeply. "and—afterwards, she um, she kissed me." i whispered so no one could hear me.

"what?!" camila yelled from the other side of the table. her face was scrunched up in confusion and the others at the table held the same expression.

i covered my face in embarrassment. "i said she kissed me." i spoke louder than before. the table erupted at my words and i noticed a few people looked over at us so i shushed them.

"she kissed you?! like—she kissed you. not the other way around?" normani asked incredulously. i furrowed my eyebrows and nodded my head but i was still confused. is that weird or something?

"damn, girl. she must really like you. y/n never initiates anything. like ever." justin said and wrapped his arm around hailey who giggled.

"so she kissed you two days ago and i'm just now finding out?" i turned towards victoria who had a mug on her face. i pouted at her.

"i'm sorry." i dragged out the y. "i was meaning to but just never got to it." i turned back to y/n's friends.

"i just can't believe how much she's told me over this past week. i thought it would take ages to get her to crack but it didn't." i spoke, still surprised at how much y/n had told me friday night.

steve cleared his throat across from me. "uh, what did she tell you?" he wrung out his hands and his eyebrows were furrowed in worry. i couldn't imagine what he felt like. his best friend told a girl she met a week ago so much about her and he knew absolutely nothing and he's been there for her since kindergarten.

i pushed my hair behind my ear and looked at the rest of the group who were also waiting for me to speak up. but i wouldn't. i couldn't do that to y/n. it would completely ruin the trust she had with me.
