Chapter 50: I'll Get You Back

"I want to see what you're reading."

Alejandro whispered into my ear, making me shiver. The next thing I did was rather shocking even so for myself, I stayed still and let him read, with a sigh I ignored him and just started to read but God it was hard to focus when someone is beside you laying their head on your shoulder.

"Can you get your own book?" I asked him annoyed, and he looked at me and smirked.

He shook his head and went back to reading the book I was reading. "You're kind of annoying, you know that right?" I asked and he hummed. My heart skipped a beat as I felt his cold, breezy breath on my neck.

Unexpectedly, my phone rang. I took it from my bag and Alejandro got up.

It was Valentino. Shit, he must be waiting because I wasn't at the hospital.

"I gotta go," I said, closing the book and giving it to him.

"Happy reading, Mr. Alejandro Huxley. "Ciao. I said to him and saw his face all puzzled. I took my drink and walked away. Suddenly, I felt him pull my wrist.

"You can't go now." He complained, and I grumbled.

"Let me go," I said, yanking my hand away from him, but his grip was too strong.

"I'm getting you back, love. Remember that." He whispers to me and I feel many emotions. I'm me.

I yanked my hand away and got out of the coffee shop. I walked back to the hospital to see Valentino waiting.

"Camila, where have you been?" Valentino said, rushing to me with Marcelo.

"Oh, I was at the coffee shop. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you. " I said, and he nodded, and suddenly Marcelo spoke.

"It took you that long time to just get coffee?" He asked and looked at me puzzled and chuckled nervously.

"Yeah, they took long making my coffee." I lied and clenched my pendant in my necklace.

Valentine nods, and Marcelo rolls his eyes and sits in the driver's seat as Valentino takes my hand and guides me to the car. He opened the door for me and I sat inside.

He sat beside me as Marcelo started to drive while I just stared at the street again plainly, I wish I hugged Alejandro, why do I even feel like this? Why do I feel like something's wrong? Ugh, Camila keep it together, will you?!

I scolded myself. Well, we're here now...

Alejandro's P.O.V

I sighed as Camila left the Cafe, I went here because I wanted to get some coffee but I guess I got a much greater surprise than that.

Camila looked so cultivated, her hair was in short spirals and she wore a blue sweater and as always jeans that would invariably fit her. I missed her more than she comprehends. And she really thinks I'm going to let her go that effortlessly?

She's certainly mistaken...

Camila's P.O.V

"Good morning." I introduced the nurses with a smile.

"Good morning, Doc. Camila, I'm Elina and I'm going to be your assistant for the day, let me guide you to your office?" She asked me and I nodded.

As we were walking all I could think about is Michael, he was crying today because he didn't want to be to go to work, Micheal cry's rarely so this is quite shocking but of course, Miss Caroline was persistent.

Suddenly, as I heard the elevator doors open with a ding I came back to my senses.

We stepped inside the elevator and she pressed the eighth floor, the elevator started to go up, after a few minutes the elevator doors opened. Both of us walked out of the elevator and she guided me into a room.

We entered a room and she opened the lights and suddenly the room lit up, wow this clinic was much bigger than my previous one in San Francisco.

It had windows and a modern style. I liked it, though it does need some little embellishments and sentimentalities to make it have some character.

"How do you like it? The owner organized this place himself." She stated and my eyes widened, why would the owner of the hospital design an office of a person he doesn't even know...

"Well, that's nice I guess, but may I know the owner of this hospital's name so I could thank him," I inquired as I looked at my white coat.

"He actually prefers not to say his name but you will meet him, he going to be visiting the hospital today, we don't know why since, he doesn't usually come here much." She says and I nodded.

"Well, why don't we get started with patients," I tell her and she helped me put on my coat.

"Wow, you have some strong teeth there buddy."

I said to the little girl who had cancer and was in here to get an appointment for a daily check-up.

"Still the medication that Doc. Fernando is still a must." I said to her mother and gave her a paper about the medicine that she could buy at the pharmacy.

"Okay, thank you so much Doctor, also are you new here? I've never seen you before." Her mother says and I chuckled.

"Yes, I am," I tell her.

"Now, I'll see you again soon buddy, you're really a strong girl," I say to the girl and hugged her.

She smiled and hugged me back.

"Charming." I compliment the girl and her mother chuckles.

"She lost her ability to speak when her father died, they were super close and she was traumatized." Her mother says and carries her daughter.

As she said, I remembered my father. He would've been so proud.

"I've lost a father too... Would you like me to recommend her to a psychologist? " I asked her and she shook her head.

"Well, then if you need help ma'am I will be happy to serve." I pledge to her and she smiled and held my hand.

"Thank you." She says.

I opened the door for her and she exits my clinic.

Such a cute girl, I wonder what Micheal and Alejandro turn out when they meet?...

"Doc?" I hear Elina knock on my door.

"Yes, Elina?" I asked her as she opened the door.

"The owners and other board members and staff are going to have lunch today, they would like you to join today," She asked and I smiled and nodded.

"Well, ill meet you outside." She informed me and I nodded.

I sighed and looked at my chart to see that I didn't have any more patients left. I took my coat off and changed back into my white puffed sleeved shirt and some tight jeans with boots.

It was quite different for me to wear boots but for a change...

I took my bag and exited my clinic, maybe they're at the doctor's lounge? Or at the front desk? Elina didn't give me clear instructions...

Feeling lost, I walked around until I saw them at the front desk, I rushed to them and found Elina.

"Hi, am I late?" I asked her and she shook her head and smiled.

"Good afternoon, Doc." The other nurses greeted me and gave them a warm smile.

I looked at them and saw they were all staring behind me, I turned around and closed my eyes and a familiar scent entered my nostrils as a familiar feeling surrounded my whole senses.

I opened my eyes to see the one and only Alejandro.

Seriously, universe?! Him?! Why!?
