At this point, so many unrelated things have happened to me and manipulated my emotions I would kill for an answer.
I wake up and the same creature is at the foot of my bed, head cocked just like last time. Yawning and stretching I get out of bed.
"Good morning" I say to him, most of the words obscured by a yawn.
I turn around, and I think he is smiling. So I smile back. I am wondering why I am so nice to this wolf who I barely know, is not remotely similar to my species, is a predator, and is most likely related to my kidnapper, when I am not very nice to Eliza, who has been my friend for 11 years. I'm feeling strangely happy when this creature is around, and when I think of Eliza, all I feel is a pang of sadness I think. That's weird.
After I change, I walk over to the dresser to find my cards, but something the wolf is doing catches my eye.
He's standing on his hind legs. I laugh. It feels good to laugh again.
"Are you a circus dog? Jumping through a burning hoop would be more impressive. Actually, if you get me marshmallows, I could roast them while you jump through hoops."
I laugh again, and I think he is too.
But then his laugh becomes more human-like and mine turn to screams.
There is the sound of bones clanking and crunching and of skin stretching, and before me stands the seventeen year-old guy from the convenience store.
"O my God O my God O my God O My God O MY GOD I AM FREAKING OUT WHAT THE HECK IS THIS"
He makes a move towards me, and I grab the nearest thing, which happens to be the lamp.
"Don't come any closer, dogboy!"
He looks offended. Who cares? "Dogboy?" he says, outraged
I managed to unscrew the lamp into bars as big as my arm. I wield it before he continues
"You liked me fine as a wolf!"
"Well that was before you turned into a guy!"
The corner of his mouth tugs into a frown. It is so annoying that I come at him with my metal bar, about to hit him when I get so sleepy. He yawns a bit as well and suddenly I am sitting on the floor, the bar a few feet away, forgotten.
"Much better" he yawns. "Now, I'm Eric. And who may you be?"
I am suddenly annoyed
"So you just kidnapped me randomly? Do you do this a lot? Get your lackeys to find a girl then mess with her sense of the world and drive her crazy?"
His hurt face and a stab of guilt is all I remember before I fall asleep.
