You know Dying is a tricky thing. One minute you could be bleeding on the ground with your knife in your chest, only dying because your best friend couldn't help you. Now don't worry Newt didn't blame Thomas for his death, infant he thanked Thomas for it. But Newt didn't know what to expect as he closed his eyes, breathing his last painful breath, only to open them to a bright room, with bright lights. A pretty girl he had known oh so well sitting on a bench across from him. It took Newt only a second to believe his eyes, before the girl ran into his arms. Her mint blue eyes looked so happy, her smile was real and for the first time Newt watched her eyes fill with nothing but love and excitement.
"I told you you could be with me after the maze didn't I." she whispered, he didn't answer just kissing her, long and gentle he wanted nothing more than for this moment to last forever, and his heart leaped when he released this moment could last forever. He pulled back, his arms wrapped around her tiny waist as he pressed his forehead to hers, planting gentle pecks on her cheeks, nose, lips, forehead, neck anything for her to know that he missed her, and he wasn't about to let her go the same way.
"I'm so sorry..." he whispered, Ebony pulled back,
"Don't apologize, I deserved what I got for what I did. It was my fault, and I paid for it. I'm just sorry I made you wait for me. I just couldn't take it anymore." she whispered, he shook his head kissing her lips again.
"I tried to do the same thing once, remember?...I don't blame you for anything that your mind couldn't fight. I love you so much..." he whispered, there eyes locked
"I'm so proud of you....but I'm so sorry your life was cut short." she whispered tears formed in her eyes,
"Oh love..." he whispered, brushing the tears from her cheeks. "Yours was too...But now we can spend the rest of our time together." she nodded, her eye diverted away,
"They made it out..." he stated, guessing what she was thinking about, she breathed a sigh of relief,
"There gonna be okay then?...good." Newt nodded, it was all gonna be okay no one was stuck in the maze anymore. They were free, safe, and finally they could all have a real ending. The kinds that no one has to cry about. So Ebony and Newt walked into their happy ending all while the others lived there. And you know what, everyone who lived and everyone who died got a happy ending, because all of them woke up to something that would help them put their broken pieces back together, for some the only way to do that was to die, but for most the way for them was to live. I hope yours is to live, because it would be an awfully sad story if yours ended now...and as much as I like sad stories, I can only imagine how amazing your happy story would be!
