--- Hello readers, this chapter mostly has terribly written smut, so feel free to skip it if that makes you uncomfortable or if you don't want to read that. If you still want to read this chapter, I will put squiggles (~) before and after the smut part. Thank you so much for your time! ---

Xun Yu awoke a few hours later as the final rays of the evening sun dipped below the horizon. He sat upright, feeling somewhat nervous, and he began to feel panicked about being late. He quickly rushed to the bathroom to wash his face and fix his hair before returning to his bedroom and changing into his casual black paofu. Once he made sure that he was ready, he quickly left to his Lord's chambers.

After a few minutes of walking, Xun Yu made it to Cao Cao's quarters and stood outside of the entrance. He gulped nervously as he greeted the two guards that stood outside of the entrance, and they let him enter without too much trouble. As Xun Yu entered, he saw that Cao Cao was seated at the desk reading over something.

"I told the guards that I was expecting you. Did they give you any trouble?" Cao Cao inquired as he continued to read over what appeared to be a cloth letter sprawled out on the desk.

"No my Lord, they did not." Xun Yu replied.

He allowed some of the tension that he felt to be released from his body.

"Good. I need a few moments to finish reading this, then I will be with you shortly." Cao Cao stated.

"Yes, my Lord." Xun Yu said.

Cao Cao quickly finished reading the cloth letter and neatly folded it. He sighed and placed it under a stack of three bamboo scrolls that were situated on top of the desk. He appeared to be somewhat bothered by what he read on the cloth letter, but he did his best to hide that from Xun Yu. He wanted their night together to be stress free.

"I apologize for making you wait." Cao Cao stated.

"It's okay, my Lord. I don't mind." Xun Yu replied.

Cao Cao sighed.

"Wenruo, please, there is no need to be formal. We are alone, it is okay for you to be informal." Cao Cao said.

Xun Yu apologized, and Cao Cao motioned for him to come closer. Xun Yu approached the table until he stood directly in front of it, Cao Cao then pat the ground next to him, silently asking Xun Yu to sit next to him. Xun Yu complied and moved to sit beside the man who then wrapped an arm around his waist. Xun Yu blushed slightly and rested his head against the man's shoulder. He still felt worried about the man's departure, and he wanted to stay by his side, to feel the warmth of his embrace, to hear his voice, to comfort him, and to help him overcome this hardship as best he could. I am afraid that he will leave and never return. I don't want to imagine a life without him in it. When we were apart for three weeks, it felt like a never-ending torture, like a punishment of the harshest degree. Now we will be apart again, but this could be the last time that I ever see him.

"Now, where would you be most comfortable? We can stay here, or we could move to the bedroom. Either one is fine with me. I just want to make sure that you are comfortable." Cao Cao said gently.

"I think that the bedroom would be more comfortable." Xun Yu replied, as sitting on the floor was somewhat uncomfortable.

Cao Cao and Xun Yu stood up, and Cao Cao removed his arm from around Xun Yu's waist to hold the man's hand. He had a smile on his face as they walked through the doorway to their left and into the bedroom. They sat down together on the edge of the bed and Cao Cao looked at him with a happy and content expression.

"Thank you for coming to see me tonight. I am glad that I can spend these moments with you. It really means a lot to me. Thank you." Cao Cao stated sincerely.
