"Baby K is doing just fine today, I see you've eased off the stress. That's great, stress on yourself will only harm the baby. Good to see you too Mr. Jones." Dr. Reed smiled.
"See that dot right there? That's her little private area. This up here to the left is her nose." She pointing at the sonogram and Sade smiled rubbing the top of her belly.
"Have you been eating healthier? Remember I told you no seafood, hot food, greasy food. It's not good for baby K."
"I've been trying but she wants them, and baby k gets what she wants." Sade said playfully.
"Mr. Jones, please make sure she eats more healthily. It can cause different problems after and also during the rest of your pregnancy. Just watch out for that. I'm not saying change your diet completely but be more safe about what you eat please."
"Yeah, I will." Kiari spoke looking over at sade.
"Well I see you guys next week, that'll probably be your last check up for your stress levels if you don't stress yourself out this week. You guys be safe." She wiped the gel off of Sade's lower stomach before walking out the door.
"Here let me help you up." Kiari said, as he watched Sade struggle to raise up.
"No, I got it." She pushed his hand away before getting up on her own and hopping down off the chair.
She grabbed her purse before walking out the door as well. With Kiari right behind her. Though they were on speaking terms they weren't exactly on speaking terms. Sade meant what she said. They strictly only talked about Kiomi.
"Aye, hold up." He called out after her and she stopped in her tracks.
"What's up?"
"Can we talk? Like other than about Kiomi. Like what you said talking about Kiomi. Like about you been not wanting a baby and all that."
"I don't want to talk about nothing else besides her. So please Kiari not right now."
"We need to talk right now though. This shit been on my chest for a lil while now. Why you keep her if you don't want her?" He asked.
"Because I wanted her at the time and I want her now. Kiari what are you getting at? You saying I don't want our baby or what? We were doing good on just keeping this strictly about her."
"This is about her. Why you keep her knowing you didn't want her, knowing it would make you uncomfortable. Knowing you weren't ready for a child." He rubbed his temple, feeling himself getting irritated.
"I didn't start feeling uncomfortable until I was deeper into my pregnancy. I was fine before then-" Kiari cut her off in mid sentence.
"You knew how it was going to be when you first said you wanted the baby, you knew your body was going to change. Why did you keep her?"
She shrugged before speaking up again.
"I don't know, it felt right. Can we not do this in here?" She asked softly and he nodded his head not wanting to argue either.
He was sick of arguing truth be told. Sade was as well. They just didn't know how to approach each other anymore. They were both healing so it was hard to understand where one another were coming from.
Well Kiari was trying to heal, he just couldn't it was too much in his mind and he didn't know how to let his emotions out. He felt like a baby when they just learned how to walk. He didn't know how to let his emotions out. He was always taught to but, it was different.
