After four years since I had become king and became Roxie's friend. We became great friends over time. She helped me with songs sometimes, sometimes we just talks, other times we went to try new things.
I taught Roxie how to work a DJ set, since I have seen my parents work one before, and Roxie taught me how to write songs. Together we work together to make songs, she'll write, I'll DJ, sometimes will even change places.
Today I was planning to host a rave for Techno Reef. When I asked Roxie if she wanted to come, she rubbed her hand up and down her shoulder. "I'm not sure, I've never really been to a rave before..." My facial reaction didn't change, but I was shocked.
Never been to a rave? I questioned in my head. I was really hoping Roxie would come, I was very nervous. This was the first time I, myself, would ever host a rave.
She looked at me and smiled. "But why not?" She shrugged.
That night at the rave, I would be preforming a song that Roxie and I have been working on for a while now.
To be honest, I'm still a nervous kid, even at nineteen. I was so nervous, but I tried my best not to show it. When I hear the beat of the music and my heart syncs to the music, I live in the music and start to sing. Roxie has been helping me with that, she's been a huge help.
When I was backstage, I looked in the crowd to find Roxie, but how was I supposed to find her? There were over thousands of trolls in the crowd.
But then I felt a hand touch my shoulder, followed by giggling.
"Roxie!" I yelled as I playfully lunged towards her. I guess now that we hang out so much, my guards know it's safe to let her in.
We both were on the ground now, me on top of her. I got up and we both got up. "You nervous?" Roxie asked.
"Kind of, why?" I asked.
"You seem a bit nervous." She responded. I turned my head to the curtains that covered the crowd. She put her hand on my shoulder. "You know it's okay to be scared and nervous, right?"
I crossed my arms and hugged the close to my body. "Yeah, but I can't show fear, I'm their king."
She put her hand on my chin and turned my head to her and smiled. "You may be the king, but that doesn't make you any less of a troll."
I smiled back with my eyebrow still bent in stress. "You're so smart, you know that?" I asked.
She flipped her hair. "I know." We giggled for a bit. "I think I'll let you get started, I'll be in the crowd and we'll meet after the show." She started to swim away. "You'll do just fine Trollex, don't worry." She gave me a thumbs up and swam away.
I was stupid nervous, but I was less nervous now. I swim up to the DJ set and picked my deep purple wireless headphones. It was dark, since we live so deep in the ocean, but I could see the crowd, they were waiting on me. I could tell Beat was already in place. He winked at me.
I smiled. I slip my headphones on and looked at all the buttons and hit one. Then I put my hand on the right turn table in spot in my hand around in a cock counterclockwise direction. The lights around me and on the DJ set lit up.
The DJ set lights were a bright purple with some parts being more of an indigo color.
I looked at the crowd, where everyone with color coordinated, purple in the back and yellow and green in the front. I heard the beat slowly start to increase in volume.
I looked around for Roxie. I saw her smile and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled back at her, closed my eyes to feel the beat better, then I took a deep breath. "One more time!" I sang, point my finger towards the surface of the water. "One more time..." I put one of my hands on my headphones while the other hand was clicking buttons. I saw the colorful waves of bioluminescent Trolls. I lean forward towards the crowd. "What's up my techno tro~o~olls?" I shouted to the crowd, swimming up in the water.
