"We lost our string...again..." I just wanted to melt down into the ground. I didn't know what to do.
I fell onto my fins. Roxie knelt down beside my. "It's all my fault..." I said.
"No, it's not..." Roxie started.
"No...it is. If it weren't for me, my parents would have still been here and they would have kept everyone safe, they would have known what to do." I started to cry a little. She put her hand on my shoulder.
"It's..." She started to say, but got interrupted once again, but not by me. By a net.
I felt the rope of the net push us down to the floor. We tried to break free, but it was no use. We heard some trolls cheering up shore, predicting it was the rock trolls.
I looked around for a sharp rock, or anything to help us break free. But there was nothing but rope, rope and defeat.
But then I felt a rush of water on my gill. I turned to find a current by us. I nudged Roxie, who was trying to lift up the net. "There's a current over there, I think if we can move the net enough, we could get free."
She nodded and we both started to swim towards the current. I heard mumbling above shore. I felt a tug from the net.
They were trying to reel us in, like a fish on a rod.
"Just keep swimming!" She told me. I didn't stop. I started to feel light headed, but I didn't stop. I felt the current rushing on my face.
Next thing I knew, we were moving. "Ha, we did it." Roxie said in surprise. She hit my shoulder. "Nice job getting us out of that mess."
I rubbed my arm. "T-thanks." I looked at her. She looked at me and we both smiled. Then we look ahead and yelped.
We were just about to hit a rock.
We couldn't do anything but hug each other and hope the pain wouldn't last long. It didn't.
It only took a second to knock the two of us out.
~~~
When I came to my senses, I felt pain for a second, but then I didn't. I felt a hand on my heart. Roxie was next to me, she was still out it seemed like. I looked at her and put my arm around her.
I slowly sat up. My surroundings didn't look familiar. I rubbed my head. "Wh-where am I..."
It seemed I was in water, but it felt different, it felt...fresh?
I saw a troll come over. He had dark blue hair, grey skin, and was wearing some very torn shorts and a leaf vest. He looked at me in shock. I now had my arm around Roxie in protection, but had a face full of fear.
"Poppy!" The troll turned around and yelled. "I think it's awake!" He turned back at me, which made me flinch.
Now another troll entered the room. This one seemed happier and worried more than shocked. She had hot pink hair in a high ponytail, like mine, light pink skin, and wore a blue dress and leaf crown with blue flowers.
"Oh, hi, are you okay?" She ran over to me and was about to put her hand on my shoulder.
But the other troll came over and pulled her hand. "No! You don't know if it's safe." The troll looked at me.
"Oh Branch, it's just fine." Poppy said to him. He kept glaring at me. I was terrified. "Who...who are you...exactly..." I asked, uncertain on what to do.
"Oh, I'm Queen Poppy, Queen of Pop trolls, and this is Branch." She pointed to the other troll, who was still glaring at me. "And who are you?" She asked, putting her hands on her legs and bending down to be at my level, since I was still sitting.
