The two of us started to walk back to the Dune Huggy. I looked over at Trollex, who was still shaking a bit from the visit. I felt kind of sorry for ringing the door bell suddenly.
"Hey, I'm sorry about scaring you like that, like ringing the door bell." I said.
"N-no, it's fine..." Trollex said, even his voice was shaking. "...it was just so sudden, that's it."
"Yeah, but I feel kinda bad for giving you that kind of scare." I said, looking down.
He swam in front of me and smiled slightly. "Roxie, it's fine." I smiled a bit to show that I heard him. "Come on." He said, running to the elevator. I smiled and ran after him.
Once we got to the Dune Huggy, Trollex jumped into the driver's seat. "My turn!" He yelled.
I knew it was his turn and I was going to let him, but I still needed to play with him. I got in the vehicle and sat on top of him. "No way." I said, giggling.
Trollex started to try and kick me off playfully. Eventually he got me off and I sat in the co-piolet seat and playfully rolled my eyes and smiled. Trollex just smiled, realizing I was just playing with him.
"Okay, let's go." Trollex said, pushing on the petal. I fell back in my seat from the sudden start.
I felt my hair flow back in the wind and closed my eyes from the air in my face. Trollex laughed at my reaction. I opened my eyes and laughed with him.
We talked for most of the trip, it wasn't very long. It was around an hour or two maybe, I wasn't timing anything.
I looked over at him and smiled as he continued to talk and drive. I loved seeing him this happy, because after his parent's death, he kind of wanted to stay in his own bubble. The only time he ever came out was when I was around.
After another minute or so, he stopped the Dune Huggy. I was a bit confused as he got out of the car, but then I heard a splash. Then I noticed we were right next to a river that Trollex was now swimming in. I laughed, scurried out of the car, and jumped in too, creating a wave that covered him.
He laughed and splashed me with water. I laughed and we kept splashing each other. I hadn't seen this side of him before.
Ever since he became king, he never really had a playful side, if he did, I could tell it was fake. But this all felt real, he was actually having fun.
I smiled at this. Then I was knocked out of thought by something jumping on me. Or should I say someone. Trollex had jumped on me, causing the two of us to go underwater. I laughed as I playfully tried to push him off. But then I stopped trying once I realized what he was doing.
He was hugging me.
I was surprised by the sudden hug, but I still hugged him back. Then he whispered something in my ear. "Thank you." He said.
"For what?" I asked.
"For everything. For being there when I needed someone. I couldn't get past what...happened a couple of years ago, but having you always be with me and by my side has helped a lot." He hugged me even tighter, sounding like he was tearing up.
I hugged him tighter as well, feeling tears form in my eyes. "I'll always be here for you." I said in a calm and quiet voice.
His only response was hugging tighter, which was so tight I could hardly breath. He loosened up a bit as I breathed out, being able to breath again.
"I think we should get going now." He said, wiping tears away and laughing nervously, seeing me try to catch my breath. "And sorry 'bout that." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
