Katsuki, November 19th, 7:02 am

It's Monday, the day of the week that everyone seems to hate due to school. I finish pulling my uniform pants up and zipping the flyer before buttoning it. I search around for my white button-up in this mess of a room.

I only just now realized I hadn't left my dorm since Saturday.

I look over at my drum set and notice it's right under the stool. I pick it up and began to put it on before leaving my dorm. I immediately notice that Deku's nowhere to be seen. "Has anyone seen Deku yet today?" I ask everyone who was about to leave.

Mina looks up at me from her phone and shrugs, "You care about MIdoriya now?" She giggles. "What a softie..!" I furrow my eyebrows before rolling my eyes at her. "I'm joking," She confessed. "He hasn't come out of his room yet..."

Just before I was about to yell at her she left the common room to go outside and head to school with Denki glued to her side as per usual. After everyone had left I rush over to Deku's dorm and bang on the door, "Idiot, wake the hell up!" I yell. I put my ear against the door. All I could hear were soft sobs from inside.

I lift my head up before thinking. Did I actually care about him or was I just sorry for myself?

"Open the fucking door, Deku."

I see the doorknob move before the entire door slowly creeks open to reveal him not even dressed for school yet. He was covered in sweat and tears along with a few bruises on himself. "What happened?" I ask him. He doesn't respond, he just looks to the floor before his sobbing began again.

"What the fuck happened, Deku!" I shout, desperate for an answer. He jerks back slightly at my sudden tone change but relaxes after noticing I was no harm to anyone but myself at this moment. His sobs began to turn into small whimpers while he hid his face in the crook of his arm. He still wouldn't say anything.

"Deku," I move my head up as if he could see me. "I can't help you with anything but my pity unless you spit some shit out right now."

He slowly looks outside of the door from behind me. "No one's here," I say before finally shutting it to gain some of his trust back from a moment ago.

"My mom is dead, Kacchan! Fucking stone dead..!" His voice suddenly goes soft, "She's dead."

My face eyebrows raise up in shock after what I had just heard, the frown I held disappeared without a trace. His cries grew weaker as his legs looked to be turning jello in front of my very own eyes in a matter of seconds.

His mom was really the only member of his family that I knew of unless there was some I just never got the chance to meet. I cared about the asshole, I knew that I did now.

All I could do was pull Deku to the floor and hold him as tightly as I could. If he kept crying like this he'd probably pass out soon. I take my backpack off and then my shoes before pulling him into my lap, closer to my face.

I didn't know what to even say to him. I didn't know if I was supposed to comfort him in a way other than this or not. "I'm sorry, Deku," I whispered. "I'm so sorry."

I didn't feel the need to ask how she died yet, it was too insensitive right now.

"why're you crying too?" He asks me before lifting his head up from my chest. Shit, I was? I wipe my cheeks off before pulling him back down. "My mom, she..." He paused before letting out a shaky sigh. "I found out last night, Mr. Aizawa found her with the villains at the casino."

Casino?

"Casino?" I say.

"I don't know either, we've never had a lot of money," He sits up, refusing to go back down again. "I don't know where she got it from." His body shook while a shiver went down my spine.

*DING*

We both jump at the sound of Deku's phone ringing by the bed. He stood up and went to go and see who it was. Without a word, he answered it, "What, Todoroki?" He says in a tired yet angry tone.

"What, Todoroki?" I ask into the phone. "What do you want?"

"Where are you?"

The test. Was this more important? Yes, but I didn't need to fail right now.

It didn't matter.

"I'm not coming today."

"Why not?"

"I'm busy with family stuff."

there was a pause from Todoroki's sigh, "Then where's Bakugo at?" He asks me. I roll my eyes and curl my hands into fists before screaming into the phone.

"I don't fucking know okay?!"

I hang up and sigh into the cold, thin air that seemed unbreathable right now before sitting back down next to Kacchan. "I can't go home, not after this..." Kacchan looked as pale as a ghost right now.

"Who're you staying with?" He asks me.

"Mr. Aizawa, he offered it."
