After dragging my butt out of bed I made myself a tea, I let Kasey outside the back door to do her business while I sipped my steaming, apple cinnamon cup of a great morning. The air was warm with a slight breeze and because it was six o'clock the sun was just rising, turning the ocean a cotton candy pink. Kasey hobbled up to me and I opened the sliding door to let her back in. She curled up in her bed as I set my now half empty cup on the counter and went to the bedroom to change into my jogging clothes. After pulling up my trackpants, and tank-top I was back in the kitchen finishing my tea and tying up my running shoes. I placed my cup in the sink and kissed Kasey on the nose,

"I'll be back soon baby girl." I said to her before grabbing my iPod and walking out the front door, locking it behind me. I plugged in my head phones, turned on my music and started jogging down the dead end beach road.

----------------------------------------------------

An hour later I jogged back up to my house, the sun was now fully up and a sheen of sweat covered my forehead. I unlocked the front door and stepped in. Kasey looked up and started wagging her tail when she saw me. I set my keys on the cheap laminate counter top of the kitchen and kneeled down to pet her.

"I'm going to give you a bath today baby." I say scratching her stomach, noticing that she smelled, she leans into me. I pick her up and walk into the small bathroom setting her in the bathtub. I turned on the faucet and grabbed the bottle of dog shampoo I bought yesterday from the cuboard under the sink. I turned off the faucet and poured some shampoo into my hands. I rubbed Kasey down and she barked happily making me laugh.

After a while of me laughing, Kasey barking and water and bubbles getting everywhere, I lifted her out of the tub and dried her with a towel. As I walked out of the bathroom to get clothes from my room to change because I myself was also soaked, I noticed what a nice day it was turning out to be. After changing into denim shorts and a different tank-top, I grabbed the collar and leash I bought for Kasey and knelt beside her bed where she was sitting.

"I think we'll spend the rest of today on the beach." I said as I finished doing up her collar and hooking on her leash. She opened her mouth and her tounge lolled out in a huge grin. I laughed and stood up opening the sliding door.

The ocean breeze floated through my hair as I walked out onto the deck and onto the sand dunes behind my house. Tufts of long grass spotted the powdery sand and Kasey chose one to relieve herself. As we walked along the strip of sand I could smell the salt water in the air. The sun was warm in my back and I knew I was going to tan, if not burn.

We walked until the sun began to dip below the horizon. The we headed back to the house.

"Come on Kasey. I have to eat something." I said and Kasey followed me, she wasn't favouring her leg as much as she had been before, that was good, but I still walked slower so she could keep up. By the time we made it back to the house the sun was gone. The air was cooler but still warm enough for me not to shiver in my tank-top. I unlocked the sliding door and Kasey trotted inside immediately curling up on her bed. I smiled then went to the kitchen to make supper for one, and a half. I searched through the freezer and pulled out two sausages. I put them in the microwave to defrost and then grabbed a noodle pack and some frozen vegetables. I started the water and milk for the noodles and dumped some of the tiny frozen vegetables into a bowl. After the sausages defrosted I tossed them into a frying pan and started noodles and set the bowl of vegetables in the microwave. Fifteen minutes later everything was done and turned off and I sat down to eat.

After supper I fed Kasey then went to my room to change into my pajamas and turn on my laptop for another evening of Netflix. This time I watched the first three episodes of Arrow before setting the laptop down and settling in for a great nights sleep. That is until the thunder storm started. It lasted for an hour before finally dying away. At long last I drifted off to sleep.
