"Are you sure he didn't hurt you? Are you okay?" Griffin had been feverishly worried since we got back, he never stopped shooting anxious glances over at me while we waited for the cops to arrive.
"I'm fine Griffin, I'm okay." I assured him for the hundredth time. "But I do have a question, how did you guys find me?" I asked looking between him and Cody who was sitting on a bar stool by the kitchen counter.
"I called Cody as soon as you left, when you mentioned the name Maquille I knew it sounded familiar." Griffin said
"I went to cadets with two brothers named Maquille, they were twins, and I became really good friends with one, but the other...he had some major anger issues." Cody said, Chris was the one with the anger issues, obviously.
"So Cody came right over and got in touch with Elijah, it didn't take long. But I never want that to happen again, ever again. I realize now that I couldn't live without you Kylie. I love you." Griffin whispered the last words as he rested his forehead against mine. Flashing blue and red lights sprayed across the walls, announcing the arrivals of the police. The next hour or so was re-telling of the story, of what happend, of what the guys looked like. They took Griffin's and Cody's stories as well, then they were off, telling me they'd give us a call if they found something and leaving an officer there to make sure we were safe. Apparently after we drove away Chris had shot some passerby. Now we were witnesses. We all walked back inside and sat around the TV on the couches.
"Cody, why don't u stay here. At least until they catch Chris." I offered not wanting us to separate making easier targets.
"Yeah, sure. If you want." He responded, shrugging.
"How about a movie?" Griffin offered.
"Okay, which one?" I asked, the boys jumped up and began hunting through my bookshelf of movies. I laughed and got up to make a bowl of popcorn.
"Avengers?" Griffin asked,
"Absolutely."

Tapping against glass woke me up in the middle of the night. My eyes shot open, I strained my ears but I didn't hear anything. I slowed my heart rate. It's nothing. I told myself, Griffin moved beside me, throwing his arm across my waist, mumbling in his sleep. I welcomed the comfort and snuggled into his embrace. I'm okay, I'm safe.

"Kylie would you mind going on a little road trip with me?" Griffin asked as Cody shoved another bite of pancake into his mouth.
"Where are we going?" I asked, placing my plate in the sink.
"To see my sister." Griffin said casually but my stomach dropped to my feet. I'm not good at meeting new people, what if I make a fool of myself.
"Uh, yeah sure. That sounds like fun." I said
"Awesome. I know she'll love you, you two are a lot alike." He said smiling. Cody looked between us.
"What about me? Did you guys forget that we are all witnesses to a murder?" Cody asked.
"We need you to stay here and watch Kasey." Griffin said winking at me. Though Kasey loved Cody, Cody wasn't fond of dogs in general. I patted Cody on the shoulder as I walked over to my room to change. I wanted to wear something nicer than sweats. After changing I walked out of my room, scratching Kasey's ear on the way out of the front door. I slid into the passengers seat as Griffin started the car. We drove for about forty five minutes in silence, but Griffin never let go of my hand. I knew it was because he didn't want to loose me again. I felt the same way about him. Griffin pulled into an apartment complex.
"She's on the third floor." Griffin said as he opened my door, always the gentleman. We walked up the stairs and down a hall, hand in hand. Finally Griffin knocked on a door. Room 117. The door swung open to reveal a girl, she looked about seventeen, dark brown hair like her brother's that fell half way down her back. Her warm brown eyes smiled at us.
"Griffin! Kylie! Come on in!"
