In which Jimmy is too sick and too little to captain the Enterprise, and he is not happy about it, but he does get cuddles, so he can't complain too much.

More often than not a member of the star fleet would be someone of a neutral or caregiver status, but it certainly wasn't uncommon for a little to be found amongst the crew. It even wasn't unheard of for a commanding officer, or a captain to be categorized as a little.

Nearly every crewman on the USS Enterprise was aware of their captain's status as a little, and Doctor McCoy being his legal caregiver. But no one aboard, aside from the the caregiver himself, had ever seen the captain in his regressed state.

That was until a virus was making it's way through the crew of the Enterprise. Only a few had been admitted to medical, all of their cases requiring a few days leave until the virus surpassed after being given some medication by doctor McCoy.

The captain had woken up with a head ache a few days before. Nothing he couldn't handle. But it was only getting worse as the days went on. He felt shaky and sick to his stomach as the day progressed. But Jim couldn't risk McCoy sending forcing him to take leave, he had a job to do.

"Captain? Are you alright?" Spock asked, startling the man and making him jump in his seat.

"Fine, Mr. Spock." Jim lied, forcing a smile.

Jim had been so dazed all morning he hadn't even noticed his first officer trying to get his attention. He stood to join Spock, but as soon as he was on his feet he began to feel light headed. The room was spinning. Before he knew what was happening he was holding onto the arm of his chair to keep himself from collapsing to the ground.

"Call Doctor McCoy." Spock said as he helped Jim back into his chair, "Stay seated Captain."

Jim wasn't entirely sure of what was going on. He knew he was supposed to be big but he just felt so small. He wanted his caregiver. And he wanted the pain in his head to stop. Why wouldn't it stop hurting?

"Jim!" Leonard called out, rushing over to the captain.

Jim looked up with teary eyes, "Bones?"

Leonard's heart sank, this wasn't Jim. This was his sweet little Jimmy. His poor boy was tired and in pain.

"God, Jimmy. Hey, how are you feeling, Darlin'?" Leonard asked, briefly scanning Jimmy for any injuries or obvious causes of his distress. He pressed his back hand against Jimmy's forehead, he definitely had a fever.

"Icky, Bones." Jimmy mumbled.

"Mr. Spock take command. I think Jim has contracted the virus. He is unfit for duty until he is recovered and in a normal head space." Leonard said, carefully helping Jimmy up, wrapping his arms around the boy's shoulders.

Jimmy leaned against Bones, trying to stay up right on his own as best he could. But he felt so tired and weak, he could hardly do that. He just wanted to stay there. Bones could stay and cuddle him. That would make him feel better.

Leonard was never more grateful for the smooth ride the turbolift provided. He's certain that the slightest jostle would make Jimmy sick, the poor little boy looked so nauseous already. Thankfully, Jimmy was too sick to put up a fight about having to go to the sick bay, but that doesn't mean it was an easy task getting him there. Leonard, despite the extra natural strength that came with his classification, wasn't quite strong enough to carry Jimmy when he was practically going to be dead weight.

Leonard helped Jimmy on a bed so he could begin his more thorough examination. By this point Jimmy had slipped his thumb into his mouth, needing some sort of comfort. Leonard hated when he sucked on his fingers, but that could wait just a little longer until he was certain of what was wrong with the boy.

"Feels all yucky, my Bones." Jimmy mumbled around his thumb, tears still streaming down his face.

"I know, Sweetheart." Leonard whispered, and kissed the top of Jimmy's head, "I'll give you something to help you feel better. Can you tell me what's wrong?"

"Feels ick."

Leonard should have known to be more specific with his question, "What feels 'ick'? Is it your head? Your ears? Your throat?"

"Head, throat, and my tummy." Jimmy mumbled, he scrubbed at his eyes to stay awake, he was too tired, "Sleepy."

"Yeah, I know it, Darlin'." Leonard said, gently petting Jimmy's hair, "You can take a nap in just a minute. Do your legs feel all sleepy too?"

Jimmy nodded, "Mhm. And my arms."

"Can you open really big for me?" Jimmy reluctantly obeyed, allowing Leonard to check his throat, "Good boy."

That was all the confirmation Leonard needed. The boy's throat was inflamed, he had a headache, high fever, and nausea. He had contracted the virus and hadn't gotten it checked out soon enough to avoid the worst of the symptoms.

Leonard replaced Jimmy's thumb with a pacifier and began to prepare a hypo. Jimmy was too distracted to notice what he was doing.

"This will help you feel better." Leonard said, getting ready to administer the hypo.

Jimmy froze when he saw the hypo, "No!" He cried.

"Jimmy." Leonard scolded softly.

"Don't want!" Jimmy sobbed, he hated those stupid things, "Please, no! Please! Don't want!"

"It won't be that bad. Just a little pinch, okay?" Leonard tried not to get frustrated with Jimmy, he is just a little boy after all, but he disliked doctors even more than big Jim, and Leonard just wants to help him get well again, "Do you want to hold my hand?"

"Doctor- Oh." Christine Chapel stopped where she was standing when she saw the captain, clearly regressed, sitting on the bed across from Dr. McCoy, "I see we have a little visitor."

Jimmy instantly latched onto Leonard, using the man's body to hide to his face from Christine. Suddenly Jimmy wasn't so quick to resist, feeling too shy to even protest the hypo. Leonard decided to take the opportunity to give Jimmy the hypo while the boy was still trying to hide against his chest.

Jimmy whined and pulled away from Leonard. Glaring at the caregiver, it was more of a pout really. Giving him a look of utter betrayal. How could his Bones do this to him?

Leonard stifled a little chuckle, and gently rubbed the boy's back, "Oh, I know, Kiddo. I'm just the meanest man there ever was, aren't I?"

"Hurt." Jimmy whined.

"You're going to start feeling better in a little bit, Jimmy-Boy. Do you want to go back to your room to lay down or do you want to stay here with me?" Leonard asked.

"Stay." Jimmy mumbled, reaching out for Leonard, "Snuggles?"

Leonard smiled and pulled Jimmy into a tight hug. Jimmy sighed, relaxing into the touch. He still felt icky but he had his Bones, so he was feeling a little better.
