Jimmy woke up in the medical bay with a throbbing head ache. Why was he in the med bay? And where was his Bones?

Jimmy pushed the blanket off of his body and forced himself out of the bed. His legs felt shaky when he stood up. But he had a mission, he had to find Bones. He didn't have time to worry about shaky legs.

It didn't take long for Jimmy to find the caregiver sitting at his desk, filling out paper work. How dare he be doing paper work while Jimmy was sick and needing his cuddles!

"Bones." Jimmy whined.

"I'm right here, Jimmy." Bones said, holding his hand out Jimmy for the boy to hold while he worked, "I'm not going anywhere."

Jimmy wasn't completely satisfied with that answer. Holding hands was nice, but he needed to be snuggling, not just holding hands. He whined again, stomping his feet a little bit.

Leonard shook his head and pulled Jimmy onto his lap, "Come here."

"I go back to work now, my Bones?" Jimmy asked.

"I don't think so, Darlin'." Leonard said, he gently rubbed Jimmy's back, hoping to prevent a tantrum from the boy, "You're still too sick for that. Besides how am I supposed to cuddle my favorite little boy if he's up in the bridge, hm?"

Jimmy grumbled something under his breath. He was supposed to be at work! But Bones did have a point. They couldn't cuddle if Jimmy didn't stay. He could stay to keep him Bones company for just a little bit longer.

"I have my paci?"

Leonard retrieved a spare pacifier from the drawer of his desk and pressed it to Jimmy's lips, "Here you go, Sweetheart?"

Unfortunately, the cuddles were short lived. Jimmy wasn't the only one who had contracted the virus. After only a few minutes someone else was coming through the doors of the sickbay with a headache and sore throat.

All too soon for either of their liking Leonard had put Jimmy back into bed. He considered himself lucky that Jimmy was too tired to throw a full tantrum about the loss of contact, and had instead decided to pout.

Leonard was just finishing up with his second patient since having to put Jimmy down when Spock walked through the door. Leonard was hoping that he wasn't going to be yet another crewman to treat, he doubted Spock would have allowed himself to get in a position where he would be compromised by the virus. But the possibility was still there and he had enough patients to deal with as it was.

"Is there something I can do for you, Mr. Spock?" Leonard asked.

"I just came by to check on the captain." Spock said, glancing at Jimmy, who was now laying curled up on one of the beds, pouting silently.

"He's got a fever, now he's just pouting because I'm not holding his hand." Leonard explained.

Jimmy sat up when he noticed Spock, "Mr. Spock?"

Spock offered a small smile to the boy, "Hello, Jim."

"Up?" Jimmy asked, holding up his arms to be held. When Spock didn't immediately pick him up, Jimmy let out a frustrated sigh, "Up, please?"

He was sure to add extra emphasis on the 'please' because him not saying please the first time was the only possible explanation for Mr. Spock not picking him up. Bones says Jimmy gives the best cuddles, so why wouldn't Mr. Spock want cuddles from him?

"He isn't going to leave you alone until you pick him up." Leonard said, "He's especially clingy right now."

Spock picked up the regressed boy, setting him on his hip. He grabbed the pacifier that Jimmy had left abandoned where he had been sitting and offered it to the boy.

Jimmy accepted the pacifier then wrapped his arms around Spock's neck, resting his head on the vulcan's shoulder. Jimmy wanted his Bones to snuggle him, but Mr. Spock would do, besides, Mr. Spock is strong enough to hold him for a long time, his Bones can only carry him for a little bit.

Jimmy looked up from Spock's shoulder to see what Bones was doing that was important enough to keep him from cuddling his baby. The first thing he noticed was that Bones was close enough now to hold his hand. He had no excuse anymore. His baby feels yucky and needs attention.

Jimmy reached out for Bones with one hand, whining around his pacifier.

Leonard sighed, "Jimmy, I love you, Darlin', but I need to work. Other people are sick, too. Once I take care of them I'll give you all the cuddles you want."

Jimmy whined again. Why won't Bones love him right now? Jimmy needs attention right now! How's he supposed to get better without Bones' attention?

Leonard really did want to give Jimmy the attention he wanted. The kid was sick, and maybe he's a little bit soft when it comes to Jimmy's puppy dog eyes.

"I could watch him for the time being." Spock suggested.

Jimmy nearly dropped his pacifier. How could Mr. Spock even suggest that? He needs to stay right where he is to give Bones cuddles!

"He's my little, and he's sick. I want to keep an eye on him." Leonard replied.

Good. Jimmy was very happy about that. His Bones was going to let him stay because Jimmy is his favorite boy. He is just being a meanie and not holding his hand right now, but he's gonna realize that he wants his baby here to hold his hand.

"The removal of such a distraction would aid in your productivity. You will be able to treat your patient more quickly and will be able to return your full attention to Jim much sooner."

Leonard sighed, weighing his options. Jimmy wasn't contagious anymore, the virus was too far along. There were plenty of caregivers on the bridge who would be able to keep an eye on him. He would much rather he be the one looking after Jimmy, but as much as he loved his boy, he is a rather large distraction and often likes to cause trouble.

"You'll bring him right back here if anything goes wrong. Any thing at all." Leonard said, "You hear me?"

Spock nodded, "I will doctor."

Jimmy couldn't believe what he was hearing. Bones was just going to let Mr. Spock take him? He said he wanted to stay! He needs to stay here with his Bones! Why was everyone being so mean to him?

"No!" Jimmy protested, squirming in Spock's arms.

Leonard gave Jimmy a quick kiss on the forehead, "Jimmy, I need you to behave for Mr. Spock. I'll finish up with these last couple of patients then I'll come get you."

Jimmy didn't like that. He didn't like it one bit, but he was too sleepy to put up a real fight. He didn't have much of a choice anyway, but he was going to let Mr. Spock know what he wasn't happy with him right now.
