Chapter 5

Marinette looked in the mirror. "I think this outfit looks good! It might impress Adrien..." then she shook her head. No, I have to stop obsessing over him, it's bad for my rep... but he's just so amazing! I'll try tho... she thinks in her head.

She walks out the door and waves goodbye to her parents. The last year of high school. Here we go! She gets onto her shiny new bike gracefully, because being a model helped her cure her clumsiness, thank goodness. Then she rode to her school. As she got off, her friends came up to her. "Mari, we missed you!" they said, all hugging her. "Back away, let the poor girl breathe!" said Alya jokingly. "Come on, let's get to class!" As they went, people started whispering. "Omg, isn't that the model from London?" "I love her TikToks!" "A celebrity at our school!" they whispered. When Marinette sat down, the whispers didn't stop. Then, someone sat down next to her.

Marinette almost had a heart attack when that someone was Adrien Agreste. Tikki smiled at her from her hiding spot. She giggled. Mari looked to Alya for help. She smirked. Oh no...

"Hi, Marinette! You look really nice!" said Adrien, blushing a bit, but he didn't notice, he just felt weird, and Marinette was too flustered by the compliment to notice. "Thanks!" said Marinette, smiling. Thank god I didn't stutter, I'm a new and improved Marinette, thought Mari.

She then smiled a big smile at Adrien and he smiled, not knowing what to do because he had never seen Marinette like this. She was just... so... different, but in a good way. She looked really... good.

"It's nice seeing you again!" he said, coming to his senses and speaking like a regular human being. Then, the bell rang. "Class is starting! Get to your seats!" said Miss Bustier. 

After school... I'm lazy, so time skip

Adrien stared out the window, in his car. Gorilla didn't say anything, as always. He fought sight of Marinette, who was surrounded by a crowd of people. She looked extremely overwhelmed and seemed to be looking to her friend, Alya, for help. Adrien smiled at this, she wasn't used to fame, was she? 

When he got home, Adrien's father was waiting for him. This is new... he thought. "Adrien, I was thinking, you need a partner, someone to model with" 

Adrien immediately thought of ladybug at the mention of partner, and surprisingly, Marinette. Adrien quickly shook his head. No Marinette! She's just a friend! 

"I don't think I really need a partner Father" says Adrien. 

"You do, I'll let you choose someone, but if you can't, I'll choose for you. Maybe that Lila girl, or kagami." 

Adrien shakes his head. "No, what about Marinette? She has the model experience, since she became a model in London, and she's good at designing." 

Adrien's father considers this and then nods. "Ah yes, I heard about her, so the rumors are true. You to work well together. I look forward to seeing improvements."

Then he walks away. Adrien sighs in relief. Modeling with Lila would be a nightmare, and Kagami, well, she just doesn't have enough passion. But Marinette would be perfect, and she's just so so... perfect. But she's just a friend. Nothing more.
