Then sun is just beginning to rise over the horizon, reflecting golden ripples in the water of the lake as fish splash about. Wild animals rise from their slumber and wander to the edge to take a drink. The majority of monsters burn away as the rest of the world wakes up. All of the world but you, who has decided to sleep in. But who would blame you, the cool weather is perfect for hiding under a warm blanket. Unfortunately, someone else has other plans.

Even in your half asleep state you hear the sound of teleportation. You pinch your eyes shut and hope he'll give you five more minutes. Suddenly someone is tapping your forehead, one... twice... ten times. You open your eyes to see ender leaning over you, only inches from your face.

"Ender!" You gasp, scooting back and sitting up, now fully awake. He makes a noise that sounds suspiciously like laughing. "Come on, what ever happened to lazy Sundays?"

He shakes his head and pulls out his notebook to display a pre drawn pictures of the both of you training. The stick figure versions of you are doing everything from push ups, to running, to target practice, and lastly fighting the stick figure enderman. "You want to spar?"

Ender nods in confirmation. You have to admidt you're skeptical, but the more you think it over the more it makes sense. Fighting is something you generally want to avoid in the nether, but if worse comes to worst you want to be ready. You pull yourself out of bed and change into your day clothes. When you glance back you notice Ender has turned around and is pointedly studying a framed flower on your wall.

"That's the first flower you ever gave me," you tell him as you slip into your work shoes. Ender turns around again and smiles from unseen ear to ear. He follows you into your crafting and cooking room as you retrieve a slice of bread and a piece of steak. It's not a traditional breakfast but you'll need the protien to make it through today's workout. You gesture to your chest of different foods, "Take anything,"

The enderman nods appreciatively and takes a few of his favorite mushrooms. You have a seat and eat while the sun rises a little more and you're very sure all the skeletons and zombies have burned away. Once breakfast is done you head out of your home, past your farm, to a flat patch of grass surrounded by trees. It makes a surprising good training area.

You start by running laps around the edge of the space. You're happy to report your leg is feeling much better. Ender still watches you carefully for any signs that you could still be hurting though. He runs next to you part of the time and teleports as well. The accuracy of his teleportation is impressive, always well thought out and precise.

Next you work on strength. Pushups, lunges, planks, and more. Whenever a lift is too easy ender hands you a tree log to add weight. By the time you're done, you feel about ready to pass out. You sink down to the ground and lean against a tree as you catch your breath. The cool morning has given way to an unbearably hot afternoon. You remind yourself the nether will be much hotter.

Ender looks equally tired as he plops down beside you. "Let's take five before sparring," you suggest and he gives a simple thumbs up. You cherish every little breeze that cools you down and replenishes your energy. But five minutes isn't nearly as long as you expect and soon your enderman companion is standing up and pulling you up by your right hand.

"We should lay out some base rules for safety first," you remind him as you walk to the center of the glade. Ender nods and holds up for fingers. "Ok, four minutes is a good start. And obviously we won't actually hurt each other, just take down,"

Ender nods then pulls out his journal, drawing a picture of him with only one set of claws out and you with an iron sword. "That's fair. I wouldn't want to use diamonds in training," you agree, feeling better about fighting now.

You grab an iron sword and put on some basic armor. You'll save your enchanted armor for the real deal. You shake hands with Ender then take a few paces back. He raises a hand, claws forming as he counts down on his fingers. 3, 2, 1. It begins. Ender immediately teleports. You spin around, waiting for him to appear. You hear a faint sound behind you and whip around just in time to see him appear behind you.

You block his attack and jump back swinging your sword in retaliation. He quickly evades your strike and spins around to land a quick strike to your side. Your armor absorbs most of the blunt impact. You tuck and roll between his legs and jump up behind him managing to get a hit in, of course it's not strong enough to ever really hurt. Ender looks impressed at your maneuver then quickly switches back to attack mode.

He disappears again, and you prepare for another attack. He starts reappearing all over the edge of the glade, teleporting so quick you can barely see him. You fire soft tip arrows but none meet their mark. Then, before you can grab any close range weapon ender is directly in front of you. He tackles you and you hit the ground with a thud. With his teeth barred and eyes glowing he looks positively deadly. You can't pinpoint why, but you feel a blush climb up your neck to your cheeks.

Ender's expression softens, then becomes flustered. Yet he can't seem to bring himself to get off, staying frozen, hovering above you. He leans down and you swear you can hear your hearts beating in sync. You're not sure who leans in first, or if it was both of you, but in less than a second a pair of lips form against yours and a hand cups your cheek affectionately. He pulls back a moment later, waiting with baited breath for you to say something.

You lean in to give him another quick kiss, then confirm your happiness by saying with a smile, "we should do this more often," and based on the smile Ender returns, it's safe to say you will.

A/n: one more chapter to go! I almost don't want the story to end so soon!
