Forcefully throwing my pistol down on the ground, I got up and gasped for air.

What the hell was that? Was I hallucinating?

Who the hell was speaking in my dreams, not to give up?

And that voice, it sounded damn familiar.

Sweat was still constantly flowing down from my forehead, but I failed to end my meaningless life.

Why did I halt? Why didn't I pull the trigger?

It was someone who was stopping me from doing so, from the back of my head...

As I immediately turned around, all I can see was a woman with a black singlet leaning against the wooden bench facing away from my direction.

A blonde-haired woman with a bun behind her head... and that voice...

Not it can't be... why would she be here? WHY THE HELL IS SHE HERE?

"I knew you wouldn't pull the trigger, why blatantly waste the life of yours anyway?" The blonde woman then did some stretching on her legs before leaning back again.

Without a doubt that's her! How dare she fucking show her face to me? How could she be jogging in this park so freely in the public without any guilt?

"It's such a big coincidence to bump into you, isn't it? Traitor."

"Forgive me for ruining your deathbed."

"Why are you here?"

"Why can't I be here? Is jogging in the park against the rules?"

"I SAID WHY ARE YOU HERE?" Dashing towards her, she immediately grabbed my wrist and pinned it against the backrest of the bench: "O-OUCH, OUCH!"

And then I had the full view of the blonde woman, the same blonde woman back in my elementary school, the same blonde woman who protected me against the school bullies.

"You still haven't changed a single bit." She gave me an emotionless stare before releasing her grip gradually: "I suggest you keep your volume down."

"You know anytime I can pull the trigger on your head right, Annie?"

"You couldn't even pull the trigger on yourself, what makes you think you can do that to me?"

It's just such a coincidence I bumped into Annie, who knew one day she would return to the place where memories were shared among both of us.

As the gust of wind drifted past us, I knew this isn't the time to confront her or anything. It would be rash and illogical to kill her on the spot.

It's time to ask her the truth and to answer my many unanswered questions about her.

This is the best time for me to fully understand her, to know the reason why she joined Muskan.

"J-Just what hh-happened to y-you?" I mumbled as I sat back down while Annie decided to lean away from me again.

No reply.

"What made you join Muskan and betray Paradis? Killing Mikasa and the commissioner without any guilt huh? You're lucky I haven't exposed your identity to PSDU before I left."

"All of them must be sending you all those hate right now."

"That's not the damn point, I want to know why. Right now, I can't seem to understand you at all. It feels like I'm talking to an Annie of a different universe. It seems like there's no logic for someone to just randomly join Marley and betray her nation, right?"
