After about an hour of Shawn rummaging through things in our room, we ended up having to go to the house he's rented for our family and friends to get the rest of what he needed. I'm currently sitting blindfolded in the passenger seat extremely anxious and slightly annoyed.
"Okay baby, you ready?" Shawn asks as he fidgets with something in the backseat before I hear him slide into the drivers seat.
"I've been ready since we left the room and you put this stupid blindfold on me" I say, my voice flat and laced with annoyance.
"I promise it will be worth it" he says as his lips meet my cheek.
"Whatever" I sigh, rolling my eyes behind the blindfold crossing my arms over my chest.
"Just hang in there Mila. I really think you're going to like what I have planned. It might be best for to take a nap though. It's going to be a long drive" my boyfriend tells me as he gently grabs my thigh in a reassuring squeeze.
"Where are you even taking me?"
"You'll have to wait and see"
Letting out an annoyed huff I realize I'm not going to get any more information from him and decide to turn myself away from him, grabbing my neck pillow from between my legs and resting my head against the window.
I don't even realize we've been driving for a couple hours when Shawn gently brushes my cheek, his lips following in feather light kisses as he wakes me up.
"We're here" he hums as he helps me unbuckle my seatbelt and take the pillow from around my neck.
"Are you going to tell me where we are now?"
"Patience grasshopper, I need to get you out of the car first" he says. I hear him close the drivers side door before slowly opening my door. He asks me to turn my body to face him, his hands gently at my waist helping me stay steady. He carefully helps me down from my seat as his hand cradles my head, his other arm around my waist as he steadies my feet on the ground.
Keeping his arm around my waist, his other hand reaches to remove the blindfold. The anticipation of what I'm about to see is killing me.
"Okay my love, open your eyes" he whispers as he brings me back against his chest, both arms wrapped around me, his head on my shoulder.
Opening my eyes, I gasp in surprise as I realize not only what's in front of me, but where we are.
"You brought me to Sedona!" I shriek in happiness as I jump up on him, my legs wrapping around his hips as I capture his lips with mine.
"You're literally the best boyfriend ever" I whisper as I kiss him again, his strong arms carrying me to the blanket on the ground in front of us.

"This is beautiful Shawn! When did you have time to do this?" I ask cuddling up to his side as he opens the picnic basket he must have pulled from the back of the car.
