Chapter 32

I'm so sorry. She didn't make it...

Those words. Those words that Spencer, Liv nor Q didn't expect. Like at all. No... This couldn't be. This can't be true. They are just in shock. They're speechless. Tears are falling down their faces. It's like they're not even paying attention to what's around them but the doctor. 

Olivia falls to the floor, broken. She screams while crying hard. "Oh my god! No! No! Ah!" Spencer is holding her for dear life as he is shocked by the news. Q is still standing there frozen, still processing what was just said. He starts to get angry. 

"What the hell do you mean she didn't make it?!" Q asks, confused. The doctor sighs before speaking. "We tried all that we can. Her heart stopped due to childbirth. We tried resuscitating her to get her heart pumping but nothing worked." Q stood there, quiet. Still not understanding what was happening. 

"I'm sorry. If you would like to say your goodbyes-" Q cuts the doctor off. He is pissed while crying at the same time. "What the fuck? Goodbye? Look, I'm going to need you and your doctors to keep trying because there is no damn way that I am losing the love of our lives due to childbirth. Now go back in that room and bring her back... please..." Q starts to cry. He really doesn't want Mia gone. Not after everything they have been through. The doctor stays silent, sort of hesitating. 

Q cries. "Please.. she can't live in this world without her mom." The doctor looks at Madison who is sleeping in his arms. "I can't live in this world without my girlfriend. She can't live in this world without her best friend." The doctor looks at Olivia who is still on the floor crying. The doctor feels bad that she had to see Mia's family like this. She honestly wished a miracle came down right now. 

She can't live without her family. So please, if you can, give her another chance. Bring her back.." The doctor was about to say something when another doctor ran up to her. "Hey, we need you in room 201. It's urgent!" The doctor looks back at Q. "Give me one second please. I'll do everything I can." Q nods, crying. "Thank you." The doctor runs to the room while the group waits in the waiting room. 

Thirty minutes go by and the group is trying so hard to be patient but they just want to know Mia's condition. They really hope and pray that she is alive. Q and Liv both sit broken. The most important person in their lives could be gone. Spencer is in between them, sad. Even though he himself hopes that Mia is fine, he still wants to bring positivity. He cues Q and Liv to look at him.

"Hey, look at me. Both of you." Q and Liv look at Spencer, tears falling down their faces. Spencer holds both of their hands. "Mia is going to be ok. God is not ready for her yet. She still has many reasons to live. And we're not going to think negatively. I wanna hear you say, that Mia is going to make it. I wanna hear you two." Spencer saids, tearing up. Q and Liv tearfully repeat Spencer's words. "Again." Spencer commands. They repeat it again. They repeat it two more times before getting quiet. 

Q looks at Madison, who is still sleeping. Q sniffles, bouncing his daughter up and down. "Don't worry, Mommy is going to be ok. I know she is. She wouldn't leave us Madison." He gives Madison a kiss. "She wouldn't..." 

The doctor walks in to see that Mia's heart is pumping again. Her heart rate is normal. She's alive. Mia wakes up suddenly, panicked. She is screaming. The doctors try to calm her. "Hey, hey, it's ok. It's ok. It's ok. You're ok..." One of the doctors says. Mia calms down a little bit but looks around to see where her family is. 

"What happened? Where- Where's my family? Where's my daughter?" She asks, crying. The doctor touches her shoulder. "They are all fine. Your heart stopped pumping for a while. But luckily, you were given another chance to live." Mia was confused. "Wait, so... I was dead?" The doctor nods. Mia panics even more. "Oh god..."

"Hey, it's ok. The most important thing is that you're ok. We're going to run more tests on you to make sure. If nothing comes up, then you're free to go." 

"Where's my boyfriend? Where's my baby girl?" Mia asks again, crying. "They're in the waiting room. They're ok. Madison is fine." Mia takes a deep breath as she knows that her family was fine. "They are going to be really happy seeing you. Ok?" Mia nods, for now processing this moment. "Let's run some tests before you can see your family. How does that sound?" The doctor asks, trying to cheer Mia. Mia nods, laying back on the bed before she gets tested.

Another ten minutes go by and the same doctor that talked to the family earlier comes out. Q, Spencer and Olivia get up to walk to the female doctor. "So, how is she? How's our baby?" Q asks. The doctor smiles. "She's alive. We brought her back." The family breaks down, tears of joy, blessed to hear that Mia is well. Q is the most happy. He is crying with Madison in his arms. Q looks at his daughter, just happy. He cries while talking to Madison.

"I told you baby. Mommy is going to be with us. She's going to be ok. Oh, she's going to be so happy to see us." Q gives Madison a kiss on the cheek. Madison smiles, awaken. "Can we see her?" Olivia asks, tearfully smiling. The doctor nods and they walk in to see Mia. Mia sees her family and she instantly cries. 

Q walks up slowly to his girlfriend, crying tears of joy. "Hey baby..." Mia saids softly. Q sniffles and smiles. "Hey baby.." He lets it all out. He gives Madison to her mother and they all come in for a group hug. Q and Mia cry into each other's arms while Madison makes cute noises. They cry for a few minutes before Mia talks to her daughter. "Hey baby.. mommy's here. Mommy will always be here. Ok? I love you so much Madison." She gives her baby a kiss on the cheek. 

Just then, Olivia and Spencer walk up to them, with Mia seeing Liv cry. Mia chuckles and Liv comes in for an emotional hug. The girls cry into each other's arms. The best friends missed each other so much even though it was only a few hours. They thought that they wasn't going to see each other again. But now they are and they couldn't be more happy. 

"I'm so glad you're alive. I don't know what would I do without you." Liv saids, crying. Mia sniffles as she appreciates Liv's words. "I'm glad I'm alive too babe. I don't know what I would do without you guys either. Especially this one." Mia saids as she looks around at the people around her before looking down at her daughter. She gives her another kiss on her cheek before Liv says something.

"Well, since you're alive and breathing, me and Spencer have something to tell you all." Q and Mia look up at them. Liv and Spencer look at each other before Liv pulls out her hand with the ring. "I'm engaged!" Mia and Q look in shock. They get excited as they are happy for the couple. "Oh my god! Congratulations!" Mia saids. Liv and Spencer smile. "Thank you." 

"Yeah, it's been a long time coming but I'm ready to officially marry the love of my life." Spencer saids, looking at Olivia. Olivia smiles as she gives him a kiss on the lips. Mia blushes. "Ugh, stop. You're going to make me die again..." The family look at her worried. Mia looks at them, feeling bad. "Too much?" The family nods, not smiling. Mia apologizes. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." Q comforts her. "It's ok. We don't care what happened. Even though it was scary. But the most important thing is that you're here... with us. And for that, we are blessed." Q gives Mia a kiss as she smiles at her boyfriend's words. 

Spencer and Liv walk up to Mia, holding hands. "We love you Mia." Spencer saids. Mia smiles at the family in awe as she is glad for the love around her. She starts to cry. She looks at Madison. She tearfully smiles. "I love you guys too." She gives Madison a cheek kiss before the family comforts her for the time being until Mia is safe enough to be let go from the hospital.
