"How could I think Tivan could contain whatever was within the Orb?" Gamora says. "Well, if your friend didn't own a person, none of this would've happened!" I accuse, placing my hands on my hips.
"What do you still have it for?!" Rocket exclaims, dragging his hands down his face. "What are we gonna do? Leave it in there?" Peter retorts. "I can't believe you had that in your purse!" "It's not a purse, it's a knapsack!" "We have to bring this to the Nova Corps," Gamora tells us. "There's a chance they can contain it." "Are you kidding me?! We're wanted by the Nova Corps. Just give it to Ronan!" Rocket shouts.
"So he can destroy the galaxy?" Peter argues. "What are you, some saint all of a sudden? What has the galaxy ever done for you? Why would you wanna save it?!" Rocket shoots back. "Because I'm one of the idiots who lives in it!" Peter yells.
"Enough! Both of you!" I demand. "We need to figure this out!" "Listen to me. We cannot allow the stone to fall into Ronan's hands. We have to go back to your ship, and deliver it to Nova," Gamora says with a sincerity in her voice that I've never heard before."Right, right, okay. I think you're right," Peter nods. "Or..." He grabs the Orb in her hand but doesn't take it away. "We could give it to somebody who's not gonna arrest us, who's really nice for a whole lot of money." Is he serious right now?! I don't know about him, but I personally would rather be in prison than dead.
Gamora pulls away from him, her eyebrows downturned. "We are not doing that," I mumble, shaking my head. "I think it's a good balance between both of their points of view." He tries to justify his reasoning, but it's not working one bit. "You're despicable," Gamora insults him. "Dishonorable. Faithless!"Just as she begins to walk away, she stops in shock. "Oh, no." "What's wrong?" I catch up to her to see what she sees. "What the hell?!" An army of ships flies down to the land as Drax laughs and stands in front. "I shall meet my foe and destroy him!" Drax bellows.
Shit! They must be Ronan's ships! "You called Ronan?!" Peter yells. The ships land on the ground so eerily, I almost don't notice Yondu in the corner of my eye. What's he doing here?! "Quill! L/N! Don't you two move!" he threatens. Peter, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and I flee to a station of space pods. "In these!" Gamora orders. Everyone splits up to enter a pod except me.
"Wait!" I call out to her. "Give me the Orb." "Why?" she says distrustfully. "They're either going to get revenge or get the thing their leader wants most. They'll have to choose one or the other. They'll be split."She stops and thinks about it before hesitantly handing the Orb to me. "I trust you, Y/N," she states. "Thanks. Take my earpiece in case they get you," I inform as I take it off and toss it to her.
I quickly turn away and find the nearest pod. I pull the door open and step inside once I see that it's unoccupied.
Taking a deep breath, I take off. I'm in deep focus, flying in the direction the three other pods are headed. Gamora's voice fills the pod with urgency. "Y/N. Get in front of us. Ronan's ships are right behind you!" "Alright!" In a zig-zag pattern, I make my way to the front. In seconds, the ships begin to fire at me. Though I'm glad I'm at the front, I'm horribly worried about the others. But I don't have any time to think of them. Of Peter. Right now, those ships want the Orb and want me dead.
I zip past many structures as I try to make my movements as unpredictable as possible in hopes of the ships crashing into them. A necroblast nearly hits my pod, but thankfully misses.Out of the corner of my eye, balls of light glow radiantly. I immediately recognize them as ships blowing up into pieces. I let out a small sigh, though not relaxed at all.
It's not enough. The same amount of blasts hurl past me, if not more. Before I know it, I'm against a rock. My pod goes out of control, rolling around and bumping into the rock.
