"If we're gonna get out of here, we're gonna need to get into that watchtower," Rocket states. "And to do that, I'm gonna need a few things."
I grab my tray of food, carefully listening to his instructions as I follow everyone through the cafeteria. "The guards wear security bands to control their ins and outs. I need one." "Leave it to me," Gamora volunteers. Rocket points to a prisoner with a robotic leg. "That dude, there. I need his prosthetic leg," he says. "His leg?" Peter echoes. "Why?" I skeptically ask him. "Yeah. God knows I don't need the rest of him. Look at him, he's useless."
"Alright!" Peter agrees. I look to him and Rocket, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. Why in this whole galaxy would we need a random guy's leg?
"And finally, on the wall back there is a black panel. Blinky yellow light. Do you see it?" I look to my side for it and spot it immediately on the watchtower. "Yeah," Peter and I say in unison as we sit down at the table next to each other."There's a quarnyx battery behind it. Purplish box, green wires. To get into that watch tower, I definitely need it," Rocket says.
"Cool. How do we get it?" I question. "Well, supposably, these bald-bodies find you attractive. So maybe you can work out some sort of trade," Rocket suggests. I raise an eyebrow at him. "In case you were still asleep-- they tried to kill me last night." "No, I really heard they find you attractive," Rocket insists. "I mean, he does. See?" He gestures to Peter."No, no, no!" Peter promptly interrupts Rocket, the tips of his ears turning pink. "Look, it's 20 feet up in the air, and it's in the middle of the most heavily-guarded part of the prison. It's impossible to get up there without being seen." Rocket shrugs. "I got one plan and that plan requires a frickin' quarnyx battery, so FIGURE IT OUT! Can I get back to it? Thanks."
"Now, this is important. Once the battery is removed, everything is gonna slam into emergency mode. Once we have it, we gotta move quickly, so you definitely need to get that last."
Just as I open my mouth to confirm, the entire prison goes dark. An alarm begins to blare loudly. I slightly jump in my seat at the sudden noise.
I look around and notice that Groot is holding the quarnyx battery with a proud grin on his face. My mind slowly comes to the realization that he has just kickstarted the escape plan. And we have to urgently get everything we need for this plan. "Or we could just get it first and improvise," Rocket announces, sounding defeated.
"I'll get the arm band." "Leg." Both Peter and Gamora leap out of their seats to acquire what they're assigned. I remain seated, looking around like an idiot. What am I supposed to do?
Rocket said that I could seduce someone into getting the battery for me, but that's all out the window now!Drones quickly flood in, surrounding Groot. "Prisoner, drop the device immediately and retreat to your cell or we will open fire." A voice orders over a speaker. I look to where it's coming from and notice a man in the windows of the watchtower leaning over to a microphone. "I am! GROOT!" Groot bellows, his voice echoing through the cafeteria. Branches rise all over his body. "Fire!"
The drones shoot all over Groot. The shots barely affect him, but he covers himself with his arms. He hits a drone, causing it to fly across the room and explode. He hits another. It spins around uncontrollably, still shooting at whatever it sees. I duck under the table for cover.
Total chaos is happening. Prisoners are running around, drones are accidentally shooting and exploding."All prisoners return to your sleeping areas," the man over the speaker orders. Can't really do that when drones are firing uncontrollably, huh? I need to think of something! What can I do?! I need to help!
I look all around me. Rocket's now on Groot's shoulders as Groot blocks the bullets. "The animal is in control! Fire on my command!" I turn my head to a trio of guards running in, big guns in their hands.
