Observations and anecdotes

Over the next couple of days I talked more with my peers and became more aware than I already was. I started to make sense of who behaved like what. From Naegi's soft and forgiving demeanor to Owada's rough and reckless personality, to Ikusaba's quiet and cold nature, to Togami's, ah, personality, I debated on whether or not to journal all of this somewhere, but being supplied with no paper in a school setting of all places, I was stuck at square one. Being the ultimate soldier made me very observant of my surroundings, especially being in the sniper department, this scenario definitely helped me put my skills to the test. Other than testing my skills (and my patience) the days living in this school were dull, as school normally is.

I'd trade normal school in place of this any day though.

I awoke in my bed three hours before the morning announcement and couldn't place my sudden alertness. I slipped my shoes on and wandered outside my room, going to the kitchens. I looked all around me before closing the kitchen doors. As soon as I heard the quiet click of the kitchen doors, I turned around to make tea. To my surprise, someone was already there.

"Naegi? What the hell are you doing up at this hour?" Naegi jumped and turned to face me. I stared down at the small knife in his hands.

"I-I could ask you the same question Kuwata." he mumbled, backing away from me.

"Don't you dare go off and murder someone with that dude! That's crazy!" I too backed away from him, both of us in opposite corners.

"I wasn't going to murder anyone! It's for self defense I swear! I was just hungry.."

I relaxed, "Oh. Me too, I was going to get some tea, then explore in the dark."

"Explore in the dark? That's a little dangerous dontcha think?"

"Yeah, it is, but it's a good way to find answers, right?"

"It is... okay. Is it okay if I come with you? You won't murder me, will you?" Naegi whimpered, putting his kitchen knife down on the counter.

"No, I won't. It's not worth it. Besides, you wouldn't hurt a fly, you are too nice of a person."

"Alright...let's go." Naegi helped me make a cup of tea and we both wandered the halls in the dark, looking around for anything out of the ordinary.

We both walked in silence, watching for movement out of the corner of our eyes, when a sudden but quiet scream echoed from the infirmary. Naegi and I looked at each other and ran towards the source of the noise, to find Asahina on the ground in the dark.

"Y-you? What are you doing here?" Naegi questioned, helping her up.

"I was attacked! I don't know who, but they meant business! I was about to head into my room when I saw a note attached to my door asking me to meet them in the infirmary at 4 a.m, which obviously that's suspicious, but the note said that there was a murder plot and they needed my strength to back them up as they tried to stop it, but when I got here I was alone, until someone tried strangling me! With that bandage over there! I would have been the first murder had it not been for you two thundering around. Whoever it was, they took off in a flash... now I have a bruise across my neck, what will Sakura say??" Asahina sat down on the stretcher, looking at the both of us.

"Thank god you're okay! I wonder who it was?" Naegi picked up the bandage, inspecting it.

"Well, they were about as tall as me. That's all I know, but even so, I'm not sure...I guess I'm just disoriented."

Naegi and I both walked Asahina back to her dorm, after checking vitals of course, and we both decided to head to our dorms as well, now that the three of us know that there's someone thirsty for blood.
