A/N: Hi it's me, Quick note! This chapter takes place the day Dick joins the league(100% not because I'm too lazy to write the week out). Ok bye!

{Nightwings POV}

Today's the day. Today is the day I join the league. Today is the day I reunite with the team. I honestly can't believe I'm doing it. Joining the league has been a dream since I was a kid, but after what the team did, I didn't think I would ever go back. Back to them. NO! I'm not going back to them, I'm a new hero, I'm joining the league. I cannot wait to see their faces. I can already imagine the look on their faces.

I looked down at my watch. Shit. It's already 12. I hurried into my bedroom and walked over to my closet. I carefully moved a suitcase uncovering a secret compartment that I had installed to hide my gear in. I lifted the trapdoor and revealed the black and blue suit. I grabbed my gear and suited up.

There is nothing better than the feeling of suiting up. The weight that the mask carries, the meaning behind your emblem. Though it might be too heavy for most, it's the best feeling for me. Sure, sometimes it's hard, but the freedom and the ability to save others is what I live for.

Once I had everything ready I walked to my window. I unlocked it and slid it up. Checking to make sure I was in the clear I hopped out. I ran from building to building enjoying the last few minutes of being teamless. I flipped off the edge of a building, gracefully landing in an alleyway. It was damp and smelled terrible, but hey what better place to hide a zeta tube.

I typed in the coordinates to the Batcave and walked through. The cave was dark and quiet, just how the bat liked it. I saw him sitting at the batcomputer looking over a file.

"You're late." He said, not taking his eyes off the computer.

"It's 12:58, B. I'm still early." I said, making my way over to him.

"If you're not 15 minutes early, you're 15 minutes late." he said, turning around looking at me. Bruce had his mask pulled down and had his usual annoyed face. It is so hard to read this man. I would think he's happy, but for all I know he's secretly plotting my death.

"Oh come on B. It's my big day. You can't be getting mad at me." I said, giving him my signature smirk. I actually got a smile out of him.

"Fine, just today." He said pulling me into a hug. "I'm proud of you, Dick." I couldn't help but smile and hug him back. It wasn't too often Bruce was this upfront about his feelings. I mean, I know he loves me, but he's not good with the whole emotions thing. He pulled back from our embrace and just looked at me smiling. "We better get going now, we don't want to be late."

"Ok." I said as we walked to the zeta tubes. Bats typed in the location and we were off.

We of course were the first to arrive, quickly followed by everyone else.

"Are you ready?" Black Canary said, looking at the 5 soon to be members of the league.

"Born ready." I smirked. She nodded and opened the door. The flashing from the cameras were a bit blinding at first, but I'm used to it. Kaldur on the other hand, I could tell he wasn't used to the public eye yet. "Are you doing ok?" I whispered to him.

"As well as I can be my friend. Though I am surprised you agreed to this." I whispered back.

"Hey, I wasn't going to let those shit heads ruin my dream." I replied, smirking a bit.

"Of course. When should I thank Wally for convincing you?" He joked, elbowing me a bit.

"Damn, am I that easy to read?" I said.
