Her head spun as she struggled to keep her eyes open in the dark room where she had been taken.
Extreme dizziness blurred her vision.
She tried to take in the surroundings around her but all she could see was the chilling darkness that daunted her, enjoying the pleasure of seeing her struggle against the ropes tied around her hands.Adrenaline rushed in her blood at the realisation of what had happened to her. Somebody wanted to harm her. She had to get out.
But the ropes that binded her hands and ankles laughed right at her face. She scoffed, face falling whilst the final pieces of hope struggled out of her grasp.
Suddenly, an unrecognisable figure wearing a black cloak could be seen in the corner of the strange room, pacing and talking to himself as if desperate and scared.
"Untie me and let me out of here this instant!" Lily thrashed against the chair that she was tied to, yelling at the culprit before her eyes.
He just stood there, staring at her through the veil of his disguise.
"What are you, scared to show your face or something?" She breathed heavily, frustrated that the ropes were not even close to giving up at keeping her there. "Just you wait till I untie myself."
"Lily, stop," A familiar shaky voice spoke to her, too familiar not to recognise it.
"Peter?" Astonished and betrayed, Lily glared, open mouthed with shock at the rat boy that stood before her, eyes full of shame yet not a single ounce of regret. "What is wrong with you? What do you want?"
"Stop speaking to me as if I am crazy!" He yelled out of the blue, making Lily jump as she had never seen him like this before. Then again, he had never kidnapped and hurt her before either.
"You, always asking a dozen questions you truly don't want the answer to. I am on the right side of history, whilst you are tied to my chair! So-"
He stuttered through his endless shouting, revealing the old Peter behind the new, terrifying one that yelled at his friend, spitting dirt on her name.
"What's the matter Pete? Cat got your tongue?" She spat at his feet, defiance written all over her face.
"So you will do as I say!"
She stilled, dozens of emotions Stirring in a whirlwind that was Lily Evans, confused, betrayed and most of all, planning her revenge. Not a word more escaped her lips. She sat there, cursing Peter's name as her glare sent spiders crawling around his heart and digging into it with all their might.
He stammered around his words again, continuing his nervous pacing, muttering things as he went.
"All you need to know clueless Lily," He squeaked, stopping suddenly in his tracks. "Is that the Dark Lord knows everything. All about your... bleak future. He doesn't want such powerful wizards going to waste, see. There will come a time-"
"Burn in hell!" She spat on him again, wishing she had mastered wandless magic specifically for this moment.
He recoiled in disgust, getting his wand out of his pocket and pointing at her.
"What are you going to do, huh? Turn me into a little rat like you so I can waltz around sewers and betray my friends?" She hissed, sending nothing but newly found hatred towards the small boy with an even smaller heart.
"I will obliviate you," He stated matter of factly, glaring back at the girl. "We can't have the others knowing about what I do behind closed doors can we?"
Her eyes widened, and she racked her brain for any wandless counter spells that she had studied subsequent to being dragged here by her not so loyal friend. Until she finally remembered one.
Just as he muttered the spell under his breath, Lily closed her eyes, concentration seeping into her as she felt the power surge from her body and at the bright light coming from Peter's wand.
When she opened her eyes, what she saw was Peter's body waver and fall to the ground in a thump. Lily did it. She reversed his own spell back to him and so when he wakes up, he will not remember anything that happened. That brought her to an advantage.
A game of cat and mouse was about to begin. Yet the cat would always be one step ahead and beyond.
She finally managed to untie herself and when she did, she bent down and rolled up Peter's sleeve. Just as expected, there was a dark symbol tattooed on his wrist, a sinister and grotesque snake curled around the shape of infinity.
A green glowing erupted from his wrist. The Dark Lord was calling.
