Story ARC A1 continued

So here you were, with your team, prone on a cliff overviewing an enemy communications base. You could see small silhouettes of enemy men walking around along with outlines of vehicles. 

Y/N: "What do you see Samuel?" 

Samuel: "Well it ain't going to be fun I'll tell you that. 20 enemy troops, and machine gun nests on each corner of the perimeter.  Not to mention, we don't know what the hell are in those buildings, we could be looking at anything from a pen to heavy ordinance." 

Samuel was a sniper so he was observing the base from a distance. It was a square layout, and like he said there seemed to be 4 bunkers on each corner of the perimeter. There were no walls, but what they lacked in perimeter security they made up in guards. 20 would be tough for the 5 of you. 

Y/N: "Harry, what do you have in that bag of yours." 

Harry:  "4 grenades, a Bangalore, and 2 blocks of plastic explosives'."

Harry was your demolitions man, of course from what he told you on the way, he wasn't very good and he had lost a few fingers because of it.

Y/N: "Good. Michael, ammo count."

Michael: "2 boxes, enough to lay down suppressive fire for 5 minutes." 

Michael was your support man, he had the ammo, and he had the gun. It was a Modern version of the M249 SAW which was calibered in 7.62x54, a big round. 

Y/N: "Alright, James what's our time frame?"

James: "Probably 8 minutes from detonation until they find out something is up. 

James was your logistics man, he was smart and he was fast. He would be crucial to ensuring that there were no loose ends to your plan, as irrational as it was.

Y/N: "Alright let's go over the plan again. We're going to use the grenades to cause a distraction, we will send one every 15 seconds from this cliff. Michael, and Samuel you will stay here and provide suppressive fire, and also lead the enemy's attention to this cliff point. You'll be to far away for them to hit anything. James and Harry, you're with me, we are going to use the Bangalore to break through the main bunker walls, and from there we'll use the plastic explosives to make sure that the only thing left of their comms is metal scraps."

You looked around at the 4 other men, they seemed satisfied. You did admit it was a long shot, but it would have to do. If you were ever to see her again you would have to do this. 

Y/N: "We have 8 minutes, I'll signal you once we get down there."

Michael/Samuel: "Yes sergeant."

It took you about 30 minutes to get through the forest to the edge of the base perimeter. 

Y/N: (Over team comms) "Everyone set up?"

Michael: (Over team comms): "Yes sergeant." 

Y/N: "Over team comms): "Send it" 

You, James and Harry waited in a bush until you heard it. 

BOOM!

That was the first grenade and you two could hear the commotion in the base. They started to look around. 

BOOM!

There was the second one, it was a little fast but it did the job and most of the men started to run towards the explosions. 

BOOM! 

Along with the final grenade you could hear Michael's machine gun firing in the distance. That was your signal and you three quietly but quickly ran into the base. To your right you could see the communications bunker and James started towards it. 

Y/N: "James! Wait stay with the-"

BRAPBRAPBRAPBRAP!

The sound of a automatic rifle could be heard and James fell to the ground in a pool of blood. The cover was blown.

Enemy: "We have intruders!!!"

Harry shot his Sub-machine gun shutting the guy up and you two booked it to the comms bunker dodging bullets. 

When you finally made it there Harry quickly set up the Bangalore and stuck it into a small hole in the bunker wall and you two took cover. Some enemies were unfortunate enough to try and remove it but they were to late.

BOOM!!!!!

Those enemies near it were evaporated. 

Harry: "Woohoo!" 

You and Harry ran for the hole and he tossed you one of the plastic explosives. You got into the hole but before Harry could make it he was shot. It had hit his plastic explosive and it started to sizzle. 

Harry: "Shit."

BOOM!!!!!

He blew up into a bunch of chunks.

Y/N: "NOOOOOOOO!"

You didn't have time though and you needed to get the mission done. You found your way into the main communications room and planted the device. 

Y/N: "Where the fuck is the cable!??!"

Then you realized, it had gone with Harry. It would have to be manually detonated.

Y/N:"Fuck!"

You scrambled to find another way but the cover fire stopped, and enemies started to surround the bunker. 

Samuel: "Sergeant? what's going on, we ran out of ammo!" 

Y/N: "Harry, Samuel. Tell (love of choice) I love them."

You started to cry and you could hear them yelling over the radio to stop and regroup, but you had already lost two men and you were out of ammo, if you didn't do this then Samuel and Michael would die to including yourself.

With final thought of your love, you smashed the button of the detonator. 

Then Black.
