You go downstairs wash your hands and go to prepare breakfast Alma joins you wrapping her arms around your waist you smile and lean your head on her shoulder to the best you can. She pulls away when she hears a knock at the door you glance behind you nervous when you hear Alma say "Miss Avocet, my god, what are you doing here!" You serve breakfast and wake up the children
"Y/N why isn't Miss Peregrine not eating with us?" Asks Millard you say that she is in her office. In Miss Peregrine's office, Miss Avocet and Miss Peregrine are speaking about Loop raids and how potential love could be distracting ymbrynes,
"The council needs to do something Alma it is beginning to become a problem!" Half an hour later after some arguing, Alma and Miss Avocet bid each other goodbye and Alma is stood in the hallway blatantly annoyed. You wrap your arms around her and whisper "Are you alright hun?" She nods but you can tell she's holding back tears you pull her into her office and the next possible moment and you wrap your arms around her neck and once again you ask her if she's alright she nods not meeting your eyes. "Alma, it's okay to not be fine you may be the ymbryne of the loop and main guardian but you're still human now please tell me what is wrong?" She finally meets your eyes and hers are filled with tears you tut sympathetically and pull her into a tight hug rocking slightly as she begins to cry quietly.

"I need to know y/n I have to know are we a couple or not is this just emotionless fucking or is a relationship?" She pulls away with tears rolling down her cheeks you cup a left cheek wiping away tears with your thumb you place a gentle kiss on her forehead "A couple Alma I am yours and yours only." You whisper as she steps forward to cry into your shoulder you hug her once again. "And also the ymbryne council are considering making a rule against dating and I don't know if I can do that, because my god is it lonely." She mumbles into your shoulder. You rub her back as she presses herself against your neck trying to be as close as she possibly can, you understand moments like this when you just can't pretend anymore and need to be held by someone, preferably by someone you love.

so for another ten minutes, you and Alma just stand there Alma finally releasing years of emotions. You two hear a knock and Alma quickly walks to the back bookshelf to mask the tears still rolling down her cheeks and you open the door just enough to make it look inconspicuous but to hide a shaking Alma its the twins they chirp something and you nod and tell them where they can find the pencils. They walk off and you shut the door and go back to Alma who's crying has turned into quiet sniffles. You hug her tight as she stands in front of a mirror wiping away mascara from her cheeks and eyes.

She turns around and says "So we're a couple then y/n." With a slight but still sad smile, you nod once again kissing her forehead you two leave the study to carry on with the daily responsibilities.
