Chapter 14 - A known new hero

Lila sat in Marinette's room, taking shaky breaths. It was officially her first day as intern.

"Don't stress Lila," Marinette says, "All you do is walk around the school and help out teachers and students. You've already proven to be adept at the obstacle course, and you have the easiest job in the school. And remember, I'll be right there with you to help,"

"Y-you're right..." Lila says, "I can do this,"

Lila takes a deep breath, helps Marinette into her wheelchair, and they wheel out of Marinette's room.

Rena Rouge watched Lila all morning.

Marinette was with Lila, but in her wheelchair still, as she was probably still too weak to stand. Lila had acted the same way Marinette had, helping teachers out with demos and things like that.

During lunch, Marinette and Lila had sat on their own, discussing private things and looking at Marinette's super secret clipboard.

"Rena,"

Rena Rouge sits up straight, then looks at Carapace.

"What?" she asks, "Uh, yeah I agree with you,"

"I didn't ask a question," Carapace says, folding his arms. "You're watching Lila, aren't you,"

"Well- I..." Rena has to start again, "I just don't really trust her,"

"Marinette does," Carapace says, "You should give her a chance,"

Rena sighs.

During self-defense, the class learned that Lila had gone through the obstacle course. Her time was right below Marinette's, putting her in third.

"How do the teachers do that?" Pigella asks, "They all have much better times then us, and we're the ones with super powers,"

They discovered that this was the class that Lila took with them.

Lila's hair was tied into a bun, and she was wearing a tank-top and shorts. For the first time, some of the girls noticed she wore earrings, though the guys didn't pay any attention to that.

"I didn't realize Lila's ears were pierced," Rena mutters.

"Her ears are what now?" Carapace looks up at her as he stretches.

Rena shakes her head, laughing.

"Nevermind,"

Lila had proven to be pretty good at the self-defense class... once she got into the swing of things.

"Alright, so what do we got on scores?" Lila says, wiping her forehead with a towel and taking out her bun.

Marinette looks at her clipboard.

"We've got a lot of improvement," Marinette tells her. "Ivan is still best at the board breaks,"

"I think there's only like, four boards left," Lila tells Marinette.

Marinette points her pencil at Lila.

"Thanks," Marinette scribbles a note to herself on one of the sheets of paper. "Alright, behind Ivan we've got Alix, with Kim right behind her,"

"That makes sense,"

"Yep. Alright, currently Alix is first on the obstacle course, with Alya right behind her, and Kim right after that," Marinette says.

"Didn't think Alya would be so high, but Alix makes sense," Lila says.
