Chapter 3 - Activated

Chat Noir closed the door to his room. He was covered in sweat, and his hair was messed up.

"Claws in," he mutters.

4 hours previously, he had discovered what the boards Marinette was collecting were for.

Mr. Gon, as it turned out, taught the self defense class. He taught the heroes how to defend themselves without their powers. At the end of the class (and after a terrifying obstacle course, which no one had gotten even half-way through) he had made all the kids break the wooden boards. It didn't matter how, as long as they didn't use their powers. In the end, only Minotaurox had broken the board on first try.

"This class is impossible!" Caprikid had said.

"Well, seeing as every adult in this building has beaten it, that proves your statement incorrect," Mr. Gon had replied.

Shortly after, they were lead on a quick tour of the school by Marinette, who told them they had the rest of the day to themselves.

Alya and Nino sat at a cafe in the city outside of the school. They didn't see Marinette, but weren't that surprised, considering they now knew she worked at the school they attended.

"Juleka, c'mon! I want to go shopping with you!"

Alya and Nino turned, and saw their friend Rose pulling the hand of their friend Juleka, who was slightly reluctant, but gave and smiled as Rose pulled her into the store.

"It's peaceful..." Nino said, almost dreamily.

Alya glanced at him, then laughed, "Well, you are with your awesome girlfriend,"

Nino smiled, and kissed her on the nose, which silenced her.

"Hey guys!"

They turned to the sound of the voice of Adrien Agreste.

"Hey dude," Nino said. They fistbumped.

Suddenly, as if the fistbump had caused it, there was an explosion.

"What was that?!" Nino said, panicked.

Alya looked starstruck. "It's another villain! No way am I missing this!"

Alya ran off, much to the shock of the boys.

"Where does she think she's going?!" Nino said, and ran after her.

Adrien stood at the table.

"You should probably go after them," Plagg said from inside his shirt.

"Why?" Adrien wondered.

"Because you might end up activated, and will get to fight with Ladybug," Plagg said.

Plagg didn't have to say anything else. Adrien took off running.

"Alya, you're crazy!" Nino said.

"Oh, so you did follow me," Alya said, and gave him a playful punch on the shoulder. She shifted her focus to the monster. "I was right! Ladybug should be here any minute..."

"Rena Rouge and Carapace,"

A voice behind the couple startled them. They spun around, and saw Marinette standing perfectly still, clipboard in hand.

"Marinette?" Alya asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Rena Rouge and Carapace have been activated. They are needed in this fight," Marinette said, "You two better transform, Ladybug will be here soon,"

"H-how did you know?" Nino asked.

Marinette laughed, "All of the faculty know,"

Suddenly, a chunk of a building fell. Alya and Nino coughed, but were glad for the cover.
