Chapter 10 - Compromised

It was the weekend. But no one at Superhero Prep felt like enjoying it.

The school had received terrible news. In three words, their weekend was ruined.

"Ladybug's been compromised!"

Adrien woke up and got ready to head down to breakfast.

"Ohh... I need cheese before I die..."

Adrien rolled his eyes but tossed Plagg some cheese.

"Also, weren't you supposed to be somewhere last night?" Plagg asked, devouring his cheese in one bite,"

Adrien's forehead scrunched as he tried to remember.

"All students, report to the auditorium. I repeat, all students head to the auditorium," said Headmaster Fu over the intercom.

Adrien was confused but left his room.

"Plagg, claws out!"

"I wonder what's going on?"

"Why did they have to call an assembly so early in the morning?"

"What could have happened between yesterday and today?"

Purple Tigress and Pigella walked between their classmates and fellow heroes and found themselves at the front, next to Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Chat Noir.

In a few minutes, the auditorium was quiet.

Master Fu walked out onto the stage.

"Just ten minutes ago," he starts. The heroes notice he looks distressed, "The staff and I received this alarming video from Miss Dupain-Cheng,"

A projector showed a video, which began to play.

Marinette looked tired and scared. It was dark around her, she could barely be seen. The light on her was coming from her phone. Her breathing was raggedy and uneven, and her eyes were a little bit puffy. But the words that next came out of her mouth were very alarming.

"Ladybug's been compromised!"

All the heroes gasped.

"She was ambushed last night while she was out on patrol," Marinette continued.

Chat Noir's eyes went wide. He'd forgotten about patrol!

"Hawkmoth captured her," Marinette says. Tears fill her eyes, on the brink of spilling over, "I don't know where she was taken, or if he saw me. For the time being, I'm compromised... I'm in hiding right now..." Marinette took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Her tears spilled. She let out her breath and looked back at the camera, "Until Ladybug is found, all heroes but Chat Noir are activated. You have to find her before Hawkmoth takes her miraculous,"

Marinette shakes her head. She has final bad news to share.

"If Hawkmoth finds Chat Noir..." she starts, then bites her lip, "If he finds Chat Noir, it's game over,"

The video ended there.

The screen the was being projected onto rolled back up into the ceiling.

Headmaster Fu looked back over his students.

"After watching this, I realized that someone forgot about patrol. Again,"

Everyone looks at Chat Noir, who looks down.

"Headmaster Fu?" Rena Rouge raises her hand.

"Yes, Rena Rouge?" Headmaster Fu says.

"What was Marinette doing in Paris?" she asks, "Isn't it kinda odd that she's currently in Paris?"
