Distinct chatter could be heard from the square as Jayce and Viktor prepare for a little showing for Professor Heimerdinger.
Jayce leans back in his chair with his feet kicked up on the desk in front of him, inspecting a smooth blue ball. Viktor screws a few more things into a machine he was working on for the special guest.
"You think he will approve?" Viktor asked his partner, putting in one last screw. "Heimerdinger believes science should be used to improve lives as much as we do." Jayce said. Viktor grabs a power tool and screws the bolt in. "We just need to show him it's safe."
The screw locks in place before Viktor pats the machine. :And what about the council?" He asked before grabbing his walker and turns to face Jayce. "We stabilized the crystal like they asked." Jayce said, looking at the spherical blue crystal in hand with a magnifying glass. "Built the Hexgates like they asked. It's our turn to decide the future of Hextech."
The front door opens to have the professor and his little white furry friend come walking into the lab of theirs. The creature squeals with it's tongue hanging out before walking off to one part of the room. "Professor. I'm so glad you could make it." Jayce said before sitting up in his chair and putting the magnifying glass on the desk.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, my boy. What do we have on the docket?" The Professor asked very excited. Viktor limps over to the little old man and motion his hand over to the desk.
"It all began with this." Jayce said opening a box full of the blue magic crystals. "A crystal of magical energy, too volatile to be handled outside our workshops. Hextech was supposed to bring magic into the life of the common man." He said, opening a smaller box in front of the professor, holding three blue spherical orbs. "And now, it finally can."
Jayce grabs one of the orbs holding it up to his face between his thumb and finger. "A Hextech Gemstone." Jayce then looks over at the anvil in the middle of the room. Placing the gemstone in the middle of it, Jayce is handed a hammer. Heimerdinger looked confused for a second until Jayce flips the hammer and brings his arm back.
The Professor fearing the worst. "Wait." Yelled the Professor, too late of course and Jayce slams the hammer down onto the gemstone. Making contact, the gemstone glows a bright blue light before exploding blue flakes everywhere, no harm to the three men in the room and no damage to the stone itself.
The professor comes out from hiding behind his arms. "Holy sprockets." Heimerdinger said. "We've found the means to fortify the the crystals. This new version is stable and absolutely safe.
A cart with two machines on it, one being a claw and the other, two massive metal gauntlets, is being pushed toward Heimerdinger. Sitting on a stool with safety goggles on, sits patiently waiting for the demonstrations.
"We present to you the next chapter of Hextech." Viktor said before nodding to Jayce. Nodding back, he continues the presentation. "We can now design portable devices." Jayce said making the Professor interested even more.
Jayce slides his hand in one of the gauntlets. Clicking into place, Jayce then pulls the glove off the cart, showing it to be heavy. "The Gemstone can power virtually anything." He said and puts the blue orb into a slot of the glove.
The gauntlet lighting up, starts to shake to life, Jayce slightly shaking with it. He then faces a boulder on a stand. Walking to it, he grabs the boulder and lifts it up with ease. the glove shaking even more crushes the boulder into pieces.
"The Atlas Gauntlets." Jayce said closing the gauntlets fist and blowing dust off of it. "the mining colonies in the fissures can work faster and without fatigue."
Viktor then puts his own Gemstone in a slot of his machine, wearing fingerless glove, the claw moves with the motion of his hand. "The Hex Claw. A mechanical arm, equipped with a powerful ray of light." Viktor said before pointing at a slab of stone, making the claw shoot a Laser and drawing Heimerdinger's face. "imagine what our artificers could do with such a device." He said before turning the glove off, making the machine stop.
"I want Hextech to be a tool for us to build a new world." Jayce said moving the orb around in his hand. The Professor noticing the claw twitching and then follows the orb in Jayce's hand. "And now, it's finally possible." Jayce tosses the ball in the air but before he caught it, the claw shoots a laser, barely hitting Heimerdinger's pet.
The little creature running off, Viktor continues. "Anyway, this is our presentation." The Professor hops off his stool. "Quite amazing, gentlemen. You should be very proud." He pulls off his goggles. "Obviously, there are a few kinks and to iron out and screws to be tightened, but give it a decade of careful research, and it will be ready."
The smiles leaving the partners' faces. "A decade." Viktor asked. "Oh, don't worry, my boy. It zips past you in a blink of an eye." Said the Professor after handing the goggles to Jayce. "With respect, Professor. We can be improving lives with Hextech now." Viktor said.
The Professor turns back around. "A breakthrough like this takes time, Viktor. Putting that kind of power into everyone's hands is dangerous. Keep at it and I'm sure you will discover a way to safe guard Hextech against misuse." The Professor said.
Viktor trying to argue with the small man was stopped by Jayce, letting him leave the room.
