"i am so happy!" Jay hugs his mobile for like the hundredth time today. him and Heeseung have been at it since morning.
all about a yuri manga – what even are those? – wherein two girls finally held hands with each other in the latest update.
and even now as we stand in the field, stretching, before we start playing dodgeball they won't stop.
"i thought they'll never grow feelings for each other."
"how can you just jump to that conclusion?" i ask even though I know my question would make zero sense to him. Jay is one of those unreasonable people from the comment section who almost had me traumatized by their comments earlier. "i mean holding hands isn't even a big deal." i shrug.
Jay stares at me and pockets his phone. then walking over to me, he smiles, "and what do you even know about holding hands?"
"like you know any better."
"i've had a girlfriend before. of course i do."
"well so have i!"
"hah! care telling me her name? " Jay mocks me cause he knows i haven't had any.
"well i don't want to." i look at Heeseung and his expression tells me i'm doing an awful job.
"since middle school, you've never once mentioned anything like that since middle school where the heck did this no-name girlfriend appear from nowhere!"
"whatever!" i pause then lower my voice. "Sunghoon and i hold hands often but it's not like we have to label it or something." i mumble.
Jay's eyes widen as soon as the words flow out of my mouth. his looks tell me he's about to snap and Heeseung a step away from me notices it too.
"Park Sunghoon was sus...," Jay charges towards me.
luckily, quick to his feet Heeseung holds Jay back by his frame. "let's calm down first, shall we?"
"but you heard that...,"
"do you have a screw loose!? care to give him a chance to explain?" Heeseung scolds Jay, letting him go. "can you elaborate a little for us Jake?" Heeseung smiles nervously, looking at me. "only if you're comfortable."
"we have been best friends since middle school, like hell he would be uncomfortable!"
they did not have to add the last part. i would tell them anyway. it's not like i want to feel any different about this situation.
