"It means nothing for the contract," your father scolded you at the breakfast table. All hope you had was quickly lost.

You had been so excited to tell them about your power, even Satoru backing you up on potential enrollment at TJH. While they agreed to send you, you were still unable to break free of the contract.

"It's still valuable for us to go ahead with the contract. Satoru would be in the same position should either the Zenin or Kamo families have a daughter at an appropriate age," your father continued, his tone pure business. "Curses these days are growing stronger and we need stronger sorcerers to fill the gap. We're looking toward the future of humanity, Y/N. Don't be so selfish."

You felt a lump rise in your throat as your father spoke to you as if you were some kind of object. The man didn't have any power himself, who was he to treat his kin in such a way? Your mother the same as well. They were both just stuck up elders just as your grandparents, only out for their own selfish gain - gaslighting anyone who strayed from the path.

Your life somehow suddenly felt as if it were falling apart despite gaining limitless - something no one in your family thought possible.
There was only one thing on your mind at that point and that was honing your skills, hoping you also had the other techniques and not just infinity.

With your first day at TJH, you quickly found out that you did, in fact, have the power to generate red and blue. Purple was still out of your grasp. It was something your brother had developed anyway, something still new and unstable.
You spent a majority of your time with Satoru as he helped you refine each movement. You were luckily a fast learner, though the power itself was a bit too much to handle. Many a time, though you had the gestures correct, the power would get out of hand and generate a large explosion. You were grateful for TJH's large campus which allowed any mistakes as such to be ignored. Unfortunately, the instability of your power rendered you too dangerous and practically useless for any real missions. The higher-ups debated removing you but Satoru was about to convince them otherwise, promising to contain you and train you further.

Meanwhile, you allowed about two weeks before speaking to Kento. The better choice of words would be that you held out for about two weeks. Beyond that would have been torture.
He had agreed to meet you at a bakery near the school after you were both done with classes. You found him sipping tea with his lankly legs sticking out from under the table when you approached.
Though you had been the one to reach out first, Kento's face immediately brightened when his eyes met yours. You smiled in return to his friendly expression.

"Hey there," he greeted as you sat down in front of him. He sat up a bit straight from the position he was originally lounging in.

"Hi," you mumbled through a small smile of your own, "been a while."

"Not too long," he reassured you, "how has your training been going? Satoru told me you've pretty much got all of limitless at this point."

"Y-yeah," you looked away shamefully, "I do...but I can't control it. I just...well, I make everything explode around me."

"Well, it's a start," he gave a flat-lipped smile of encouragement before taking another sip of his tea, flicking his neck to keep the strands of hair from his face.

"I guess so," your tone was utterly defeated, "I'm only able to stay in school because of my damn brother. I'll always be in his shadow...no matter what."

"That's not necessarily a bad thing."

"I guess so," you accepted, "he does have a lot of eyes on him."

"So have you thought about what I said? How are you...feeling?" Kento's cheeks slightly blushed, but he was able to fix himself before they got too pink.
