"Fuck," you hissed as your brother dismissed his students, waving cheerfully as if they weren't all just threatened by a curse master. "All of my shit is at his place." You facepalmed sadly.

"Not a big deal," Satoru shrugged, "we can get you some uniforms and you can replace the stuff over time." You blushed as he threw his arm around you, physical contact with him for the first time in years.

"I've missed you, big brother," you giggled as the two of you walked toward one of the buildings.

"Me, too," he squeezed you tighter, "but we've got some explaining to do to the higher ups before you can hang out on campus."

"Right," you looked down, ashamed, "I had no idea he'd go so far. I knew the things he had planned weren't great but...to see him go so maniacal over it...something's not okay with him." You excused yourself.

"I get it, Y/N, there's a certain validity to his desires, but unfortunately there's nothing just we can do about it." Satoru explained as he released your shoulders so you could both walk up the stairs of the porch.

The two of you entered a room where an emergency meeting was being held, many gasps at your sudden presence.
During the meeting, Suguru's plans were discussed and you shared as much information as you could. The higher ups decided that it was okay for you to remain on campus temporarily as you gained your footing. You had a while to go to gain their trust, but for now your brother's recommendation protected you.
Unfortunately for you, one of the higher ups included Zenin Naobito. He stared you down like some kind of villain during the whole meeting.

"Gojo Y/N," he approached you aggressively post-meeting. You were headed to the dormitory with your brother to get set-up. Just as you had feared, he was stopping you for obvious reasons. "Did you forget about our families' contract?"

"Certainly not," you turned to meet him, attempting to maintain a straight face.

"You will uphold it now that you've returned," he pointed a fat finger in your face. You tried not to be appalled by his actions, but this was something you had expected upon returning. "We'll be in touch."

Without another word he stormed past you and you continued walking with Satoru to the dorms. Unfortunately they were the student dorms, but you didn't have much of a choice.

"You okay?" He asked as the two of you casually strolled along.

"Yeah," you sighed, "it's overdue, honestly. I guess I have no choice." Your brother stayed quiet. "Where's Nanami? I didn't see him when we arrived." You finally dared ask about your lost love, eager to hear his answer.

"Oh...he...retired," Satoru explained, slightly blushing.

"Retired?!" You nearly yelled out of the shock. "Like, he's not a sorcerer anymore?" He shook his head.

"You know...Haibara's death was hard on him... He wasn't very optimistic in the first place," Satoru tried to explain though he never received an official answer from the former sorcerer upon his dismissal. "It happened pretty much right after you left. I think a week later, actually."

"Wow..." you mumbled to yourself. "He's so talented, though..."

"Yeah, was a grade one!" Satoru stretched his arms behind his head as you began ascending the porch stairs of the dorms. "Total loss. I heard he's working at one of the corporate financial buildings downtown, like a salaryman or whatever."

"So you haven't even seen him?" You asked. He shook his head, grabbing a key to the room you were assigned to from his pocket.

"Here we are!" Satoru exclaimed, opening the door and waltzing inside. It was a very plain room, only the essentials. "I'll work on getting you some uniforms and whatnot. You'll probably want to go downtown and get some of your own stuff, though."
