AN: Y/N is imperfect and I'm gonna leave it at that for now. Lil' bit of a plot filler chapter.

"Hi, Y/N!" Yu sped past you as you meandered through the campus gym to its exit the next day. He seemed to be in quite the hurry.

"Oh, hey, Haibara!" You tried to greet to keep up with his speed.

"Heading off to a mission! See ya' later!" He waved, still speeding down the hallway.

"Okay, good luck! Say hello to Nanami for me!" You waved back and returned to where you were going only to find Suguru and Yuki, a graduated sorcerer, speaking outside.

Yuki waved and sped away on her bike as you came to stand next to Suguru. He looked a mess which worried you; he was usually clean and tight with his looks. It seemed as if he had some kind of strange epiphany based on the expression he held.

"Hey, Geto," you greeted casually, trying to ignore his messy appearance.

"Oh, hey, Y/N," he greeted back, turning to head back into the gym. You began to follow him, feeling a bit unnerved by how he was behaving: a little stiffer than usual.

"What we're you and Tsukumo talking about?" You hesitantly asked as he took a seat on a nearby bench in front of the locker rooms. You joined him.

"Nothing much," his voice was quiet, "how's your training going?"

"Oh..." you blushed, "okay, I guess. I really can't control it so I can't use it. I'd be too afraid to hurt humans if I were to go on missions. Satoru's trying, but I just can't seem to get a grip. Even when my gestures are correct and everything. I feel like the most useless sorcerer ever."

"Don't think that way," Suguru said quickly and seriously, sitting up straight after leaning on his knees. You were shocked by his suddenness. "We are the future of humanity, Y/N. You'll get there."

"Uh..." you were thrown off by his verbiage.

"That's what I was talking with Tsukumo about. Non-shamans are on their way out. Eventually there'll be a world without curses."

"Oh to live in that world," you chuckled, "no one would have to put their lives at risk. I wouldn't have to marry that Zenin brat to keep any sort of weird lineage. I wouldn't have to be so damn careful." You sighed and stretched while agreeing with Suguru. He smiled at your naivety. "It'd be a utopia."

"Then help me." He mumbled, looking down at the floor - leaning on his knees again.

"Help you what?" You inquired, leaning over a bit to capture his eyes.

"Help me make a new world." His voice was quiet. Suguru then continued to explain more of what he and Yuki spoke about, explaining some of his ideas that he declared weren't solid yet but were ideas nonetheless. You had to admit you were a bit convinced.
"Your current state of chaotic power may be what we need to succeed. Even just having limitless on our side would be a help."

"You haven't shared these thoughts with Satoru?" You cocked your head in confusion. Considering their relationship, you figured he'd be the first person to tell.

"No. And I don't plan on telling him. Please keep this to yourself," Suguru explained.

"Why not?" Your heart sunk, already knowing that he was clearly implying the end of their relationship.

"He wouldn't agree to it. And it's dangerous. I don't want him to get mixed up in it based on who he is in the community." He sighed sadly, this part of his plan being his least favorite.

"Okay," you hesitated again, "I'll do what I can where I can. You know I have my own lines I won't cross...but I'll do what I can." Suguru nodded at you in acceptance.
