Harry POV
After we watched Friends with Gemma for a while Louis and I offered to make dinner.
I was glad that Louis hadn't become distant with me after the incident because I really liked hanging out with him, even if it was just as friends.
Louis put music on on his speaker in the kitchen and we got cooking. I had the difficult job of cutting the onions and my eyes were incredibly painful. Louis put the carrots that he was trying to peel back on the chopping board and looked at me worriedly as I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand.
"You alright mate?" he asked once I'd stepped away from the onions and opened my eyes again.
"Yeah, just those ones are pretty strong." I said, wiping my eyes.
"Here, you can peel the carrots." Louis said, passing me the peeler. He got back to chopping the onions and I thanked him, gratefully peeling the carrots and then grating them.
We were making a spaghetti bolognese. Louis tipped the onions, garlic and some oil into the pan and fried them up a bit.
"You can put the mince in now." he said.
I tipped the packet of mince upside down and it feel into the pan with a splat. We both laughed and I started to mash it up a bit and cook it. Then Louis poured in the tinned tomatoes and shortly after he added the carrot, some flavouring and some chopped olives to make it interesting.
We let it all simmer while we cooked up the spaghetti and I yelled to Gemma to set the table and get some drinks ready.
Once the pasta was ready I tipped the water out and dished it up, Louis adding the bolognese on top with a sprinkling of grated cheese.
"Perfect." I said, high fiving Louis as we carried the dishes into the dining room.
He smiled widely and I tore my eyes away from his beautiful face as I sat down beside him.
"This is delicious, thanks boys." Mum said.
"Yeah it really is." Robin added, smiling at us.
"You didn't fuck it up, well done." Gemma said, which received a look from my mum.
Louis laughed and carried on eating.
"I thought we could walk around and look at the lights tonight. There's some really cool ones a few roads down." I said.
"That's sounds like a good idea." Mum agreed and everyone thought so to.
Robin and Gemma did the dishes after dinner while I got ready to go out in my room, pulling on my warmest hoodie because it was getting very cold outside. Louis came into my room in a big grey hoodie with the hood up, lying down on my bed and sighing.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"I ate too much of our amazing dinner." he replied, grinning up at me.
"Well you've got about ten minutes to digest before we're going for our walk." I said.
Louis laughed and sat up against the wall, pulling out his phone. I heard the voicemail guy on his phone say 'You have one new message'.
Louis pressed the button to play it.
"Hey Louis, it's Eleanor, you're probably busy doing Christmas stuff but I was just calling to say I miss you and I love you. Have a good day babe." Eleanor's voice came from the phone.
I turned to the window to avoid looking at Louis and squeezed my eyes shut, wishing it would all just go away. I heard the typing of keys as he sent her a text message and I didn't even want to know what it said.
"You ready to go Harold?" Louis asked.
"Yup. Let's go." I said, opening my eyes, turning away from the window and almost running downstairs.
Louis, Gemma, Mum, Robin and I all pulled on coats and Mum and Louis had scarves on and we went out, walking down past a few streets until we got to the one I'd seen earlier with some amazing decorations.
"Wow, look at that blow up Santa on the side of that house." Louis said, pointing it out to me.
I laughed along with him and mentioned the glittering metal reindeer in the garden of a house across the road, forgetting about stupid Eleanor because her boyfriend was with me, laughing with my family and putting his arm around my shoulders.
When it started to snow we hurried home and took off our coats, shaking snow from our hair. Robin went to get some mulled wine and we set up a game of scrabble which I managed to win after putting 'Christmas' in where Gemma was going to put her word.
"Hey Harry, you should get your guitar and we should sing some Christmas carols." Louis suggested once the scrabble board and tiles had been packed up.
I went to get my guitar and sat back down on the couch with Louis and my family singing along. I noticed that Louis had an extremely nice voice and I quieted my guitar playing so I could hear him more clearly.
By ten thirty we were all going up to bed.
I closed my curtains to block out the falling snow outside and got into bed, holding the sheets close because it was cold.
