Before Christmas

Twenty-Three

Louis POV

After a nice dinner at the pub with Harry, Gemma, Anne and Robin we finished our pints and went back home. I was excited for the evening because they were setting up the fair as we drove past and it looked amazing. Harry grinned at me and I smiled back, thinking about tomorrow morning when I would wake him up with a kiss and ask him to be my boyfriend.

I thought about kissing him in the snow. I couldn't hold it in, he was beautiful.

We got home and I decided that I would make some birthday calls, feeling bad that I never did any this morning. First I spoke with my mum and my sisters for a long time, listening about Paris and the wild weather that was still raging. Next I called my grandparents who had always been very supportive of me, then Zayn. He and Liam were both there, talking away and when I looked over at the alarm clock beside me I noticed it was already half past four.

"Lads I got to go have a shower before dinner and then we're going to that little Christmas fair I mentioned." I said.

"Okay Tommo, have fun, happy birthday." Zayn replied.

"Bye Louis." Liam added before I hung up.

I went into the bathroom and relaxed during a nice long shower, watching the snow still falling outside the frosted window. I got changed into some black skinny jeans and a green Adidas hoodie and then hurried downstairs where Anne and Harry were cooking dinner in the kitchen.

"Wow this smells amazing." I said.

"Homemade pizza." Harry replied, pulling an amazingly perfect pizza out of the oven.

"Oh, thanks, it looks delicious." I said, watching Harry fondly as he sprinkled cheese onto the next one.

He smiled at me and I helped him and Anne finish cooking.

"Are you guys excited for the fair?" Robin asked during dinner as I helped myself to the first slice of pizza.

"Yes, it doesn't feel like Christmas Eve until we get to the fair." Harry replied.

"I'm super excited." I added.

"Well, it's really a lot of fun." Anne said.

We all finished dinner quickly because all of us wanted to get out and go and see the fair.

"Right, we'll leave in about ten minutes." Anne said and Harry, Gemma and I ran upstairs. I put on my shoes and tied the laces, checked I had my wallet and phone and then went back downstairs where everyone was pulling on coats. Harry came hurrying downstairs a few minutes later in his usual black skinny jeans just like mine, a plain grey shirt and those Chelsea boots that he loved.

Harry pulled on a long black coat and everyone was ready. We left the house and began our short walk over to the field that was bustling with people.

"Right, we need to buy tickets, that's how we pay for rides and stuff." Robin said, leading us over to one of the ticket stalls. 

Robin bought a pile and handed them out. 

"Right who wants to do what?" Robin asked.

"Ooo, mum, look, those scarves are like the ones I was talking about the other day." Gemma said and she and Anne went off to look at some knitted Christmas scarves. 

"You go with them Robin and Louis and I can go and check out the rest of the stuff." Harry said.

"Okay, meet you boys here at half past nine okay?" Robin replied and he followed Gemma and Anne.
