Unexpected Occurrence

You leaned on the side of a building as you watched a few people smiling and walking. At one point, the most surprising thing to you, was that you saw a person talk to a pretty big frog.

As you were watching the people talk and get along, you saw a girl about your age walk up beside you. She looked bored and about ready to go to sleep.

You: Eventful day?

???: The exact opposite. 

You: What were your plans?

???: Well, me and my brother were planning on going on a hike today, but after what Frisk told the both of us, Asriel convinced me to stay here for a bit.

You: (Wait a minute, isn't Asriel the name of that goat kid that Kartana was talking to?) Wait, by any chance, is the Asriel you're talking about a goat child?

???: Yeah, why?

You: Honestly, out of everything I've seen today, I probably should be less shocked. But how is he your brother exactly? Are like a type of monster as well?

Chara: Uhhh, sure, lets say that. My name's Chara by the way.

You: Nice to meet you Chara. I'm Y/N.

Chara: Wait a second, isn't your sister that Kartana girl?

You: Well, sorta. We aren't related, but we think of each other as siblings.

Chara: If you don't mind me asking, how did you two get here?

You: We found this place while walking.

Chara: This place is like miles away from any known city. And Frisk said that she found you near the woods. You really expect me to believe that the two of you "walked here".

You: (Technically we did walk here. But it is quite worrying that Michael's facility is close to here.) Okay fair enough, we did get some help from some people on our way here. We were escaping a pretty toxic household.

Chara: Oh, sorry to hear that.

You: It's fine.

You watched a few kids play around with some monsters as they laughed and smiled.

???: So Frisk, who are these new people you were talking about?

Frisk: I'm not sure where Kartana is, but I think know where- Oh, there they are.

Frisk waved at you and Chara as the both of you waved back. The girl with Frisk walked over to you two and look way to excited to see you.

Betty: Hi, my name is Betty!

You: Uh, nice to meet you. I'M, Y/N.

Betty: Frisk here said she rescued you from someone in the woods nearby. What happened?

You: I'm not entirely comfortable talking about that right now.

Chara: (What did she mean by saved? Eh, I'll just ask him about that later if I'm able to.)

You: Anyway, I should probably go find Kartana and-

Betty: Oh! Can I ask you more questions while you do?!

You: I...

Chara: 'Just say yes Y/N, besides look at how happy she is.'

You turn away from Chara and look at Betty who looked ecstatic.

You: Uhh, sure, why not. 

Betty: Yay!

You walked around with Betty trying to find Kartana as she asked you a few questions, all of which you tried to avoid by either lying or changing the subject.
